Its Ugly ![]()
looks busy. and wide. id stick with the 800 which seems to be the exact same mixer minus the fancy fx section.
And very expensive. Ok, it has 6 FX slots, but that dowsn’t justify the price I think. Ableton can do this too is you want…
I honestly love the mixer, the touch screen brings new options. My problem… is the price!!! Pioneer keeps thinking their the only ones creating this stuff. $3,000.00 for a mixer its just too much, come down from those clouds.
Looks too busy for me, but this is a cool feature..
It’s bigger than industry standard 13" Mixer so don’t think we’ll see it in any booths anytime soon.
$3,000 for a mixer? Yeah, Pioneer really needs to bring this pricing shelf down if they want to sell anything to regular consumers. Seems their only target market is successful musicians/clubs, which doesn’t seem to be a huge market.
My two cents exactly!
Exactly, they seem to think that by targeting this market that everyone will want to have one because their favourite DJ uses one but when it’s $3k for a mixer alone that’s just not possible. The DJM-800 can be had for around £1,000 in the UK and this out of the reach of most consumers but is an aspirational product that some will save until they can afford. At $3k though and a $1.5/£1 exchange rate that puts this at around double the price of the DJM-800 and I think definitely out of the price range of even this type of consumer.
I think there is a pretty big market for anything that Pioneer, Serato or Rane comes out with. Think about it, how many high end clubs are there in the USA, Asia, and Europe? ALOT! Alot of these clubs go out and big the newest gear to make there superstar djs happy!
need to hurry, need to collect as much club credibility as i can get, have to become famous, have to earn a shitload of money.
love the mixer…but like already mentioned. this beast is no bargain
Well of course, but how many of those high end clubs are going to want to shell out extra money for a piece of equipment most of the DJs who spin there won’t even be able to use?
Nuts! I would never spend that much on a mixer. Buy a soundcard with a 4 deck mixer purely midi with traktor and your basically doing the same thing.
The price for that and 2 CDJ 2000’s!? Just to mix music ha…
I think this thing will do well, but it’s no bargain. Great for clubs though. I think it will help midi setups also, cause if most of the clubs adopt this thing, you won’t have to carry around a sound card anymore, unless you wanted to of course. It does kind of introduce a new standard for the CDJ dj’s though, a complete setup like they already have with high quality control that could all be toted from club to club on a thumb drive.
Honestly, not that impressed. It’s basically a $3000 version of this
Looks like a great mixer. Nowhere near revolutionary or game changing, but a really nice evolution of the DJM-800. I’ve heard they’ve discontinued the EFX units and I think we see why.
I’m most interested in the touchscreen custom MIDI functionality that you can use. The DJM-800 was a MIDI configurable item, but the layout of that box was just horrible to configure any MIDI feature without having to do away with some of the major built-in features of the unit.
And for all those who are going to flame Pioneer for releasing such expensive equip, understand that they’re really targeting the true pro dj & install/club market with all this equipment. Yeah, most of us would love to have this and a pair of CDJ-2000’s at home, but frankly they’re not really targeting folks like us with these products.
Exactly, it’s just for mixing music!! For that price i’d want it to… well… you know… something pretty dirty
