The New Pioneer DJM-250, what do you think?

Just seen this skratchworx article on Pioneer’s new entry level 2 channel mixer, the DJM-250:

here’s the video…

and a pic…

I’m really impressed. All this for £250? per channel filters on an entry level mixer? What do y’alls think.

looks like a good xone22 competitor

i think thats a pretty sexy mixer

Prepare for the Xone 22 vs DJM 250 threads???

Why don’t we just have it out in this one?

very nice!
it lacks of separate booth volume control :disappointed:
it’s a smart move from pioneer!

smart move
and being a pioneer, it will sell like hot cakes

me im a rane mixer kinda guy but for people starting out and looking for a cheap mixer this just might be a good solution!

Finally, a cue/master pot on an entry level pio. Oh wait, they finally got it with the 350 before that (which is still late tbh). Pretty cool filter knobs… too bad there’s no resonance conntrol on the filters but that’s a good start!
A lot of empty space on the right… if they relocate the fader start/xfader control, I could see a 450 with effects there…

Because N00bs doesn’t know where the search function is so will result in 100000000+ ‘XONE22 VS 250?!?!?!’ threads.

In more seriousness. I think this looks alot better than the 400 and the 350! Finally Pio have done something decent in the smaller mixer side. They could have implemented one or two other features though which would have been nice.

But for the price it will be (even though it will be slightly higher than others in its catagory) i think it will sell brilliant and be a nice little mixer to work from.

balanced xlr outputs finally!

Xone 22 any day of the week.

No booth output on a home/bar mixer is ridiculous.

No booth out or record output. Big let down. Unless you can you useboth of the master outputs at the same time. One to record, is this possible?(dumb question?)who uses two filters at the same time? If so how often?

I’ll mix tracks like that sometimes.

all the xone 22’s that i played on has a “pop” when turning on the filter
it could be just defective units or are they all like that?

just curious

my xone 22 does that. Just got to time it right on the off beat and you won’t notice it. I suppose the pioneer filters are always on so you won’t get that.

You can use both masters at the same time, but that does rely on using the XLR outputs as your master.

No FX or send/return,

nty.

as a bedroom class entry level mixer, it looks good. lack of booth output suggests its not really aimed for professional use at all

It’ll be more expensive and lower quality than alternatives that have been on the market for years, just like every other mixer they make.

But it’ll sell like hotcakes because most people have never used Vestax, Rane, or any of the other good mixers out there.

i like the filter, pretty sick, would get it for my daughter.
