The Real Diplo

now for the jokes: apparently diplo has a knack for not fail-proofing his monikers.

Dipho, DipLow, DoucheLo, RipLo, and my favorite:

Major Plagiarism.

I don’t think Diplo was a dick at all! Not in the true sense. You could tell he was TRYING to be a bit dickish in the end, but I would be too if people were giving me a hard time for doing something with MY OWN original production.

Diplo is a good guy for even responding to them in the first place.

ya the biggest question is what ends ludachrist went to ok the mashup of diplos track.

i do like how this muddies the already murky water of copyright laws.

I thought Ludachrist released the mashup for free… so they never tried to get any money from it, thus it’s not really breaking any copyright law… amirite?

I think this is even worse…Diplo released this like 2 months ago

An article reads..“Hyper Crush have enlisted Diplo to produce their new single Ayo, which is set to shake up dancefloors everywhere with their slice of modern day rave.” Diplo produced this? It sounds familiar…oh yeah!

those patterns are similar, but not the same

Yeah you’re right…I was really stoned when I made that assumption last month and never actually compared them…my b

I lol’d

Lesson: Dont make mash ups with other djs and expect to take over the world with lasers on sharks heads cuz your sidekick mini me, will want his cut from the $500.

hehe, good one.

I’ve always wanted to go there

discussing internet beef is pretty lame but when strangers try to jump in on it and fan fires well thats…

plagiarism is a tricky word to apply to a situation when its a product made with intellectual out put of 2 other people…
here is some perspective:
"
diplo:
@djmjatl @ludachrist u guys r in the liner notes for the game. Lemme know if u want the 500 dollars i got from them or my mechanical royalties for writing the original "

seriously why are you trying to fan the fire?

well played sir.. well played

Indeed. It isn’t overly clear if Diplo (one half of Major Lazer) ever gave Ludachrist permission for the original mashup in the first place, or whether either of them got permission from Harold Faltermeyer for either version

because i guess you didn’t notice that was a pretty sarcastic/patronizing tone.

ludachrist never wanted/cared about the money. it’s not about that. it’s about CREDIT where CREDIT is due.

that’s all i’m trying to get at here.

as i type this im watching diplo on a blackberry commercial sigh

They made a DJ Hero 2? /Facepalm

K, that’s what I thought the issue was here, Ludachrist do deserve credit for their work.

im so confused…

what does Diplo have to do with the Pon De Floor track? (legit question cause im mad confused)

he took it. changed the name. called it his.
