The weird case of Ableton Midi denial.
Ableton recognizes it. The computer also. It just does not work. My Launchpad and QX49 don’t work with ableton anymore. All drivers installed and it still does not work. In the midi port section they appear in a orange text.PLEASE HELP!!!
PS. I spended 10 hours on Christmas day trying to get it to work and nothing happened.
Top right hand side of the session/arrangement view - there is a little green keyboard icon. Try toggling it on/off (CTRL + SHIFT + K) and seeing if that makes a difference…

If you click into midi learn mode can you assign button mapping manually ?
no… I cant. All midi controllers are useless on ableton.Even my computer keyboard cant play notes…

Honestly though sounds like Ableton is possibly corrupt somehow if you cant even map the regular keyboard & never seen the orange text before - maybe a windows thing ?
i got this computer 1 1/2 years ago.

Usb version: one 3.0 and two 2.0 I believe.
Operating system: Windows 7 64 bit
Ableton live lite 8.2.1(thinking of getting live 9 when released)
No midi with other softwares
no recent updates
maybe automap but I cheked and it had no sign of getting anything.
It is defenitly a windows thing…It happens to windows7 to a rare amount of people.It used to happen to live 6 users also.
PS.appertnly im SCREWED!!! Theres seams to be no cure, so… do you think I should re install live???
Can you check if midi is being received at all by testing midi learn with traktor or something similar ? Just to narrow down if its a driver issue or purely Ableton thats the problem.
If you can use the devices on another piece of software then re-installing Ableton might do the trick, if not then it might be a driver issue or conflict.
all controlers are reconized but no fuctioning in ableton and mixxx(this is a open source version of traktor).Dont know whats up but yeah..If you can yelp it would be great.If not its ok also.
