Looks a bit like a Rodec brush, I guess.
I’ve got a Rodec and would recommend 1 for getting the deep grime from the grooves.

lol can you rephrase the part “for getting the deep grime from the grooves” since i don’t “get it” lol.

i use groove glide

is this the one - [ame=“Amazon.com: GruvGlide GRUVGLIDE DJ Package : Musical Instruments”]Amazon.com: Gruv-Glide II: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41mtwQJ5KXL.@@AMEPARAM@@41mtwQJ5KXL[/ame]

yeah the good stuff. bought the can over 10 years ago. a little goes a long way.

do you have to use the spray can?

and how do you use it? (instructions=

When I used Groove Glide I noticed it left my records kinda greasy. I just use the cheapo D4+ Discwasher recording cleaning kit.

is the brush that comes with groove glide any good though? if so what is it?

maybe you applied to much goove glide?

is this the d4+ discwasher your talking about

The sponge pad that comes with Groove Glide is nice, but IMO is way too expensive for what it is.

and that is the same kit I bought about 15 years ago.

which sponge did you like better the one from groove glide or the kit you brought 15yrs ago

the groove glide cause I can get high off it. :sunglasses:

get a spray bottle, a microfiber cloth and a mix of 50 percent distilled water and 50 percent rubbing alcohol…

voila…

ok thank you, i think you just mentioned the cheapest form and i hope those items will keep my vinyls up and running and not screw em up

do a little homework…it’s safe…

All these methods work fine; the DIY spray bottle and cloth is pretty much the same as the D4 and works fine. I prefer to have a “dry” method as well as the “wet” versions; I got a carbon fiber brush that can run through the grooves dry and do a basic cleaning without any liquid so I can get rid of dust in a hurry while playing. And for $5 you can get a rubber lint roller; the rubber stuff it is made of is sticky and awesome for picking up dirt from the grooves. Try to find a small one though; the big one that I have is a bit awkward. There used to be something called a Nagaoka or something that did the same thing but cost $40 and made for record grooves.

You can go crazy cleaning your records; the best way is supposedly a vacuum contraption that can cost anywhere from $200-$5000 but you can make one yourself if you look for instructions online. I’ve never tried it.

and get one of these, for dry brushing this brush works really well..

I would think a good quality micro fibre cloth would do the job, but I don’t own, hmm actually I do owon some vinyl just don’ t play them so.

And dont skimp on the micro fiber cloth…dont get the ones from the dollar store

Lots of freely flowing warm water a lint free cloth gently directed in reverse direction to the grooves and a spot of Fairey liquid does the job just fine, gets rid of the crap, static, allsorts. Crackles and pops are vastly reduced after this method, and i once had an unplayable scratched, filthy, covered in booze residue and worse- white label i’d acquired, the stylus just skipped as soon as it saw the vinyl - until i did the above, a few crackles but perfectly playable
