im in the market for a mixer priced around 200-300 GBP ive looked at the ddm4000 and it seems like it has the most features for a decent price. just wondered if anyone had any feedback on this mixer or if anyone knows of a similar mixer for a reasonable price?
Loving my behringer ddm4000 even more this is my second ddm 4000 first one i had second hands for 80€ a freind of mine needed a mixer for a upcoming gig and borrowed and loved the mixer so i had to sell it
no i got a newone for 75€ but i could stand the headphone socket so i juist modified the headphone jack
i solder a second headphone jack elsware and both are working.
I have been been wanting to go with an external mixer for Traktor for about a year. I looked long and hard at the DDM4000 mixer with a Behringer FCA610 four channel sound interface (four channel sound cards are hard to find and expensive!).
I have had good luck with Behringer gear over the years. I have several EP2500 amps, DEQ2496 digital EQ, and DCX2496 digital PA managers that have been in service for 5 or 6 years.
I ended up getting a used Denon X1600 instead. On the Denon, the killer feature was the built in four channel sound card, that made it a MUCH better choice for me. The faders on the X1600 also feel better to me than the faders on the DDM4000.
While the A&H DB2 and Pioneer 900 will always make me drool…for the $$$ I am way more than happy with the X1600.
I understand u… But over the years i have teached my sekf something… And that is i don’t compare i just search for things I need and get it otherwise it will be to difficult to come to a decision.
So for now the ddm4000 is the best mixer in the world
The lack of a dedicated filter per channel is the biggest complaint I have about the X1600. The filter effect is fine, and I can “make due” with only one filter…but I certainly feel like I am making a compromise there.
I will eventually find some MIDI knobs to put to the task of being per channel filter controls…but that’s for another day.
I owned this mixer for about a year. It was a pretty good mixer for the price. My only complaint was it wouldn’t seem to save my settings. I had to reprogram everything every time I turned on the mixer.
Had my DDM4k for about a year and it rocks. Works nice as a standalone MIDI controller and is a solid external mixer. The onboard effects are alright, but tbh I use it as a Traktor mixer, so just rock those FX.
