thoughts on gigging

what are you thought on gigging 4 times a week as opposed to twice a week?

i would like to get other people opinions, seeing as i am gigging all summer

It’s twice the work.

… what are you asking? lol.

4>2

What are YOUR thoughts on giggging 5 times a week as opposed to four times a week?

I’m really not sure what your asking either?

I have noticed that “gigging” is a funny word to say out loud a few times

You first OP

giggity

If you aren’t gigging every day, I don’t know what you’re doing with your life.

What about gigging 4 times a day, as opposed to 2 times a day?

I’m confused. Are you asking what our thoughts on playing more than twice a week are?

Is this, like, asking for actual advice or something or are you just excited and wanting to tell people that you might have 4 gigs per week coming up?

what about not gigging four times a week opposed to not gigging twice a week.

“i like the way you work it, no giggity”

Twice a week and pretend to be booked out the other two so you can charge twice as much for the first two

i just wanted to how you feel about gigging alot as opposed to gigging less. right now for me music pays the bills and i want to keep it that way  so i am debating on weather i should do more gigging or keep it at 2…

lol, is this a serious question?

If you want more money, book more gigs. If you don’t want more money, do not book more gigs.

I say stick with two and struggle for money. :+1:

Your thread still makes little sense.

Can we use the word gigs instead of gigging, It’s killing me.

This thread is trippy :joy:

4X Times a week = $$$$
I know with all these “DJs” now taking gig for free, DJ pay has gone down. But back in the 90’s, getting $300-$500 a night is pretty standard for club resident. When I lived in CA I went from Thurs to Sun. Every night, 5 hour sets in 3 different clubs. It was good money. But shit got old after a year. Sometimes your sets would become a blur cause you would play the same shit every time. If its what’s hitting, its what you play to keep the crowd on the floor unfortunately. Even if you do hear it over and over and over. I think the perfest balance is 1-2nights a week. You still get a chance to practice and have some time off. Up until I quit my current residency to weeks ago, I was doing 2 nights a week and holding down a day job. That was definitely busy, but still fun. Very little time to practice though, so for the most part I just listen to new tunes and get to know them and use my club playing as “practice”

i have plenty of work during the day producing, and helping out others. but sitting behind the decks is better then sitting in a cubicle…

more gigs = more money = more gear = more option = more to learn = more to carry = more set up = more can go wrong = bad back = less joy on free time = less chances of other jobs = sitting infront of facebook when time as DJ has passed.

I would play gigs every day if I could. But too much of anything can be bad over a long period of time. If you are still young and it’s only during summer I would def go for the extra 2 nights.
