Touch Screen
Would this work as part of a mod?
Would there be any way to incorporate this into a gamepad mod?

Not sure since it’s designed for the DS. If you can connect a USB plug to it then it might work.
eBay sellers also have a P6 connector for the ribbon. That solders onto the DS’s circuit board. Just wondering if there’s anyway to solder it onto a gamepad board instead, though I have no idea of how these things work?
Just feeling around for boundaries before I start mine. A Midifighter with a Kaoss style touch pad for effects would be immense if possible!
You might be better of searching a broken nano pad or something.
It depends what/how many pins it has because it he’s to be analog. For £2 is try it
nope almost certainly won’t work… if you’re even asking, you probably don’t have the technical know-how to pull this kind of mod off… (sorry to say it, just trying to be realistic).
if it’s your first mod, keep it simple… that way you’ve got more of a chance of finishing it.
It is my first mod, but I’ve a tendancy to throw myself into these things.
My first actual mod was about 8 years ago (and only one so far). It was non-DJ related. I basically had 3 guitars and liked different parts from each. So I ripped them apart, sanded, merged parts, custom painted, rewired in new pickups and LEDs into the headstock etc and added bits like bigsby tremolo systems etc and it was then an awesome guitar.
A few years later I quit my band though ![]()
…but I sold that guitar on eBay then for £1,200 as it was a custom one-off with no other like it, where the parts cost me about £100 and 3 used guitars that I’d bought for cheap or inherited. Until then, only guitar mod I’d ever done was changing the strings ![]()
wow - nice work man.. got any pix of the guitar? ![]()
yeah, and about the DS screen - almost all custom screens have proprietary interface boards… its very unlikely you’d be able to adequately interface with the touchscreen part without a LOT of electronics understanding… way beyond the scope of this forum anyway.
