Sweet!
Who alredy tried touchosc with Sony Xperia 10 ?
Had the same problem. Simply install Connectify
IM having problems with the screen resolution im on a Motorola Droid…
It only shows a part of it.
YESS! I can finally put this 4 inch multi touch screen to some use in my dj sets! I had been trying to figure out how to use it for filters etc. Will play around with this.
And then??
Well set it up. Use wizard in connectify, give it a name, password and what is else required.
Start server. Next, on your phone connect to that virtual hotspot as to any other wifi router or so.
Finaly, in TouchOSC on phone, enter IP adress of that virtual hotspot in setings>Network. You can see that IP by pointing with your mouse on connectify icon in taskbar for few sec.
Also PD-Extended won’t start picking unless you start PD Midi patch and DON’T CLOSE THAT WINDOW WHEN IS OPENED!
Here is link to one, rest of them are on TouchOSC site.

It would be nice a DJ review comparison between all droid pads.
You can’t add layouts yet I don’t think which is fairly annoying…
HTC Desire looks awesome, still have to configure it though!
Member u can do this for android tablets too…right?
I can never get touchosc to run right..with my droid or my ipod. I map a couple buttons press play..and the music starts then starts cutting in and out and wont stop.
Hey.
Just gave this a spin on my Desire.
It was a bit of a pain to set up under windows (with PD extended and a midi link), but I got it to work!
For those in question:
- Download the app from the market
- Download Pure Data Extended (scroll down to the Windows link)
- Download a sample patch to go along with the desired TouchOSC layout from the Hextler site (again, scroll down to the windows section, and find the patch for the layout you are using)
- Install Midiyoke, LoopBe, or some other virtual midi cable.
Now.
5. Load up the app on the android, load up the desired patch in PD extended.
6. Under config in the app, there’s a section that says Hostname / IP. Give it the local ip address for your windows machine, this can be found by opening the command line and typing Ipconfig /all.
7. The port should be good, but if not, it’s usually 8000
8. In PD extended, under media, midi settings, select the virtual midi cable for input and output.
Now you should have a PD Extended patch that responds to your phones input, and a midi cable running to whatever application you wish (Traktor, Live, etc).
Hope this helps
I got an 7" Android tablet which I’ll have to try this out. Probably gonna work like shit with my resistive touch screen. I don’t think my Motorola Flipout and it’s 3" screen is big enough to be much use.
my layout for Android. Test it tonight at gig and it felt sooo good.

extremely interested in the android tsi stuff. although functionality for android sucks bawls. and hexler is kinda being tricky with releasing the source code and such so the users have been trying to develop it in the hexler forums. I’m working on being able to import .touchosc files to android devices. it’s a bitch. Ah well such is life. still crappy on tablets. still no multitouch. maybe in the next couple of months…
I am sick of hexlers ignoring andoroid version. I patiently waited for 6 months to release full andorid version.
So here is HOW TO PUT YOUR LAYOUT:
-download this http://www.multiupload.com/GXW01G6URJ
-place TOUCHOSC apk here “place-apk-here-for-modding”
-double click Script.bat
-chose 1
-now extract with winrara your TOUCHOSC layout and copy index.xml file
-go to apk_manager_4.9/project/touchosc folder and paste index.xml to assets/Beatmachine.touchosc
-now go to script.bat window and chose 5
basically you need to zip it and sign it again(I think number 5 should do it), havent done this for 6 months.
-I think your signed apk is here “apk_manager_4.9/place-apk-here-for-modding”
does he charge for it yet? if not then it’s tricky to be “pissed off” with something that a developer is giving away for free.
i’d buy a copy from him (and then an android tablet) if he sold a version for android that had multi touch - else i dont really see the use in it.
certainly worth a try and thanks for the info, nobody else is handing it out.
zestoi, certainly you can understand everybody’s frustration. Sure we’re not paying for it but everybody would love to pay $5 or more for a full featured version of touchosc for android. Android users have been begging for updates on touchosc for android with next to nothing to show for it from the devs.
and about 30bucks that I already donate ![]()
“frustration” sure… i would pay at least 30$ for an android version if he did a multi touch version etc. i dont see how 5$ is at all fair - unless he sold shit loads of copies - and even then 10$ or 20$ might be more right as a minimum.
i guess he has more personal commitment to the ipad etc, doesnt want to open source his code and then lose ownership if it, and doesnt have enough time to work on the android version.
as a developer i can appreciate his situation… but i’d love for the android version to have the missing features. i just can’t justify buying an ipad when all i want it for is a touch surface for music software.
maybe he should see if people are willing to pay enough to at least cover his development costs. put out a message that he’d do it if he got enough preorders at 30$ a pop or something?
very cool… tho i suspect you are in the minority - or maybe i’m being unfair?
i remember a while back someone here explaining a mapping he’d done using midikatapult but also saying he wasnt willing to pay for it! wtf! dont use it if you’re not willing to pay for it - midikatapult only costs about 20$ i think too…
i’ll get off my developer-high-horse now
i just know how much time developing can eat sometimes…
