traktor kontrol s2 and allen and heath xone k2 working together on tractor

hi guys
can I use a s2 and k2 together of traktor 2.5 + at all
or am I wasting my time with this type ofthinking of a set up that would work
scratching my head over this should I have got a f1 instead..
thanks
andy

Yes you can.

cool how can i do that nicky
is their a mapping already done for this or is this a day to spend when its raining and to drink a gallon of coffee and smoke 20 red malboro
btw just noticed your in my neck of the woods im over in huddersfield

+1 for Marlboro reds

Well it depends what you want the k2 to do, but there are lots of maps on here:

https://maps.djtechtools.com/ (select the k2 in the Controller drop-down)

The only thing thats not available yet is full remix deck mapping, but it is coming, so the k2 would be able to control those as well in future.

Haha yeah, fellow Yorkie

oh yes used to live in leeds 2 years ago and used to vj in leeds as well, at stinky, victoria works, warehouse , northern lights, cabbage and space,

mmmmm i used to program midi for stuff like modul8 , arkaos and resolume but this seems a bit of a user kick in the bollocks to say the least..

oh yes and ive stopped ..
wtf…

well just wasted a full day with the xone k2 and what a disappointment
the things totally not worth the effort to work it…
after finding out that it doesnt work with osx 10.8 and to partition my hard drive to make it 10.6.8 to get it to work i find im going to get the F1 instead unless i find a use for it as a door stop …

Did you download the latest drivers

S2 and an F1 gets my vote, I’m hoping to get an F1 after xmas is out of the way!

Another fellow yaarkshire here too!

You must be missing something somewhere - pretty sure it will work on 10.8 and you shouldn’t need drivers on mac.
Maybe you haven’t imported the tsi correctly or you might have changed the midi channel on the controller?

Dunno cos I haven’t got one but I’m sure it will work.

I believe the issue is with USB 3.0. Do you have any 2.0 ports you can try it on?

i found out from rod at audio technica in leeds that it doent work on 10.8…
and the drivers will be out in 2013 sometime but no date
my set up is a 27" iMac, 2.66 ghz intel core i5 with 16 gb 1067 mhz ddr3. 2 usb 2 ports,im running traktor pro 2.6 on this one..
my other iMac is a 20" iMac, 2ghz intel core 2 duo with 4 gb 667 ddr2 sdram, 1 x 400 fw, 1 800 fw, 3 usb 2 ports, running a partitioned hard drive with osx 10.6.8 (as recommended by allen and heath ) and 10.8.2 on the other..had to partition that yesterday as was trying to find a work around ..im running 2.5 and 2.6 on this set up..
i managed to flash the xone on the 10.6.8 part…
i tried to use most of the tsi files found on this site and a few from other sites and still no joy…
ive found that the light’s were stuck and could not seem to get them to turn off..
so ive done the start up procedure every time and followed the videos from a&h
i really cant spend a whole day on this piece of kit and find that im banging my head against a wall …
i was expecting a piece of kit i could use at the same time as using the kontrol s2 for doing a few extra things well a few more…
are well i will give it one more day and then back to the shop if they can take it back, i had to special order the bugger in,
so if that fails it will go up on here for sale..

ye been on the a & h site and got the 1.0.3 driver for the xone one but no drives for the mac
well thats what ive been told as it should be plug and play..
was told im the first to bring up this problem at audio technica …

Ok bud, lol, didn’t realise you’d done all that…
Sounds like a duff k2 to me - take it back and demand a replacement or a refund

hi guys
well i slept on it over night and it wasnt my hand ..
had another bash at it and f*** me it works
me thinks a bit of id 10 t fault.. is i cant get the
will put a new mapping up tonight for you guys to have a play and i hope it works well..
only one thing is i cant get the light to work yet .
scratch of my chin with this one.
well have a look and give some feed back..
big grin for this to myself…

glad to hear you’ve got it up an running rather than having to piss about taking it back!

Good job, I knew it would work. I was just about ready to upgrade my iMac to 10.8 just to see if I could help you figure it out.
