Traktor LE Headphone Cue (Help Me!)

Traktor LE Headphone Cue (Help Me!)

I recently bought some nice DJ headphones, with the intent to use them so I could cue Track A in the left ear, and Track B in the right ear. Is that even possible? If so PLEASE HELP! Any input and advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Traktor doesn’t have split cueing.

traktor in general, or just traktor le?

general

Bummer

so was their any point to buy DJ headphones?

Page 48 in the manual.

Not possible. However if you have a soundcard such as an audio2 you can listen to your mix through the speakers and cue the next tune in your heapdphones.

You need a soundcard

Nope. The thousands of DJ’s out there just use them to look cool.

Or you get a DJ mixer which has split cue, output from 4ch sound card, and run Traktor in external mode.

What headphones BTW ?

which soundcard do suggest- that wouldnt be too expensive, because as of right know I’m on a tight budget.

  • I bought 2011 skullcandy sk pros for $120 :disappointed:
  • I also bought a creative xi-fi soundblaster pro soundcard, i’ve read the manual and played around but still had no luck. Any tips or how to’s?

Get a NI Audio 2 (or Traktor Audio 2, dunno how it’s called now)

is there any possibility of something cheaper?

The Numark DJ I/O would give you what you need. I’ve heard mixed things about the Behringer UCA222 U-Control or similar cards made by them, but at around $30 it’s not exactly a bank-breaker. Should be enough to get you started. Check out the Buy/Sell forum, Craigslist, eBay, etc. and look for a used Audio 2 though, that would probably be the best option if you can get it.

EDIT: You never stated how you were controlling Traktor LE. Controller/mouse/external mixer?

So which DJ headphones did you buy??

Anyhows, pretty much ANY 4+ output channel sound card will do the trick (for now) … I bought one of these a week or so ago for a project and its pretty alright, decent sound, low latency and it was $20 locally, I’ve seen them on Ebay for similar prices.

BUT if you are smart you will spend $80-100 now on a decent sound card and not need to buy another one for years to come.
