Traktor Mapping for Denon MC 6000 mk2

Hello again Stewe

I am using my controller well with the mapping you provided me. But On the level i am at now, i need a few more mappings.

1-) I need smart fx banks. Can you add fx mapping from the mapping of Denon mc 3000 which raycotek made earlier? You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--U3Ngp5RyI&feature=iv&src_vid=6-5YtfpAPs0&annotation_id=annotation_539555"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--U3Ngp5RyI&feature=iv&src_vid=6-5YtfpAPs0&annotation_id=annotation_539555

Note: Please consider that denon mc 6000 mk2 doesn’t have 4th fx knob. It has a knob without a button under it instead of 4th knob which mc3000 has. That knob can be pressed on.You can see easily here: http://djworx.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/denon-mc6000mk2_15-1024x682.jpg
If mapping the 1st fx knobs of mc3000 features to 4th fx knob of mc6000mk2 would be complicated, then only map the drama/sweep effect with delay freeze at %100 of the effect (smart fx bank 1 knob 3 in the video) to 4th knob for now. To activate that effect i want to press 4th knob itself . I need that effect urgently.

2-) i need pitch bend buttons to move forward and backward not with 8 beats which i requested before, but with a fixed value of 32 beats

3-) I need loop in and loop out buttons to move backwards and forward with a fixed value of 4 beats. I use auto loop for looping. And loop in and loop out buttons are useless for me. I want to use them at moving

Hi,

thank you for the idea. But how can we tell them to switch off/dim when modifier is pressed?

From the mapping forum:
Hi Jay Neural, at first i m really thankful for your mapping , but unfortunately since i got the Traktor Version 2.10.0.13 it doesn’t work anymore. Most of the buttons don’t work for the right deck and other don’t even work anymore. Sorry for my english, but i still hope u can help me. Thanks a lot !!

Hi, quite strange, I will have a look, but it should normally work with the latest version. Try to reimport it using the global Import button and choose the MC6000Mk2 MIDI in/out ports if they’re. It already set. Also notice this mapping is for internal mixer mode audio setting.

Now it works ! Thank you so much, great work ! Keep it up
Hey, since Stewe offers custom mapping services for $$, I really think you should contact him directly if you need any more mapping stuff (DJ TechTools Forums). Or try to learn to map Traktor yourself and people here will help you out without hesitation if you get stuck with some mapping problem.

I’ll get back to ya on that, I’m off out to a gig, but what I’ll do, is make a small .tsi to demonstrate, with the censor button as a modifier

Hello Stewe,

I managed to map below:
1-)Moving forward&backward with a fixed value of 32 beats by using “pitch bend” buttons
2-)Moving forward&backward with a fixed value of 4 beats by using “loop in” and “loop out” buttons

But i couldn’t manage to map drama/sweep effect chain. As you told me as a reply of the private message i sent you that you can do that mapping, I attached the mapping file with changes i made.

About that, i need to ask two questions:
a-) Do I need a button to activate effect and another to deactivate it?
b-) Do i need an extra button to add delay freeze effect or is it possible to add delay freeze effect when drama/sweep effect reaches its maximum (%100)?

Note: Please consider that denon mc 6000 mk2 doesn’t have 4th fx knob. It has a knob without a button/led under it instead of 4th knob which mc3000 has. But that knob can be pressed on. You can see easily here.

I am planing:
To activate the effect by pressing knob 4.
To change values by turning it while keeping it pressed.
To add delay freeze effect or is it possible to add delay freeze effect when drama/sweep effect reaches its maximum
To deactivate the effect by releasing it.

Is that possible?

That should be possible (in Traktor’s mapping) but I need to check the manual and see midi chart for FX knobs - if I remember correctly, those were sharing same CC’s too.

I’ll see what I can do but I can’t promise fast response atm.

I have mine mapped so, if I press on encoder once, it allows me to select effect 1, twice for effect 2 and so on. 4th time it reverts to off. The encoder dial then adjusts the wet/dry, and each knob controls the parameter of that effect with the red button underneath turning each effect on/off.
As for your idea, yes, it’s do-able, but I the idea of one effect reaching max, then another jumps on. If one is creative, it would need a little work tho!

Ok Stewe,

You can reach manual and the midi chart of mc6000 mk2 here.

Please let me now when you have time to care about this mapping. and please note that i am looking forward to it.

Hello DJAdesands

In my idea, i am planning:

1-) To press encoder to activate the drama/sweep effect chain at fxdeck1 and selecting(deactivated) delay at fx deck 3, binding 1-3 fx decks dry/wet
2-) To use the encoder dial to adjust dry/wet and all the parameters of the effect chain(iceverb+peakfilter+reverb) and dry/wet of the delay at fxdeck3
3-) To have delay freeze when the effect chain reaches %100
4-) To release/press for a second time the enconder to deactivate the effect chain and get normal fx again

Can we map the encoder button for different commands when it is pressed 2nd or 3rd or 4th time?

Yes, but it’s going to be dependent of the pre-selected FX, it’s quite an ambitious idea, but I do believe it’s doable - to a point. (3)
I use 2 decks, with 1/2 FX groups per deck. I’m getting lost at binding 1 and 3, are you looking to use the same effect on decks 1 and 3?
The effect chain/delay freeze, I’m not sure that can be achieved. That seems to be something that (based on my mapping knowledge) won’t work.
4 - yes, modifiers can be set that the encoder press will work for multiple purposes, but you would need to setup some LED return, so you know what function is active. (this would work at 2)

I use 2 decks as well. I meant binding the dry/wet values of the two fx groups on per deck.
If having delay freeze when the effect chain reaches its max is impossible, than we can map “fx2 on” button to activate delay freeze
when it is pressed. And to go back all normal when encoder is pressed for 2nd time. Is this possible?
There is no led for encoder on the controller. So I must track it from the software.

That’s called a Sperknob in Traktor

I’d use a modifier mapped to rotary knob CC.
Set type to ‘Fader’.
Set mode to ‘Relative’.
Set the rotary sensitivity to somewhere in a range of 24-26%.

So as you twist a knob from far left position you’ll notice that the value is changing from 0 and reaches 7 right before the far right position. You can use that small peace of velocity to fire up echo and then shut it of with value of 0-6.

Unit OFF / Mx=0
Unit OFF / Mx=1
Unit OFF / Mx=2
Unit OFF / Mx=3
Unit OFF / Mx=4
Unit OFF / Mx=5
Unit OFF / Mx=6
Unit ON / Mx=7

So do you say that having delay freeze when the effect chain reaches its maximum is possible?

In mapping, yes. For your controller: 1) based on the mapping you provided and my very limited knowledge about this controller I can’t be sure to tell. 2) Check for firmware update. If DJAdeSands can get to remap LED’s and Knobs on his controller than maybe the software in your controller is outdated.

I’ll put up something on Youtube to show the LED’s doing stuff, to see if it’s useful.
Yes, there is no encoder LED, but using other LED’s to show it’s state is possible. I’ll show this on the vid.. I’ll get er up later. Quality is rubbish, but hopefully you’ll get a sense of what I’m at..

Alright, made a bit of a balls o this, when I rotate the phone. Durrrrrr!
Basically demonstrates LED feedback on Denon unit.
Vid quality’s a bit rubbish too..

I have just updated the firmware of the controller from 1.002 to 1.003.

First of all, I see that you use 2 fx units on traktor. It can be changed to 4 fx units from preferences as i use. In that way there will be 1-3 fx units on deck A and 2-4 fx units on deck B. But on the controller still there is 2 fx units.

Shift + Rotating fx knobs already selects effects on the fx units with the mapping denon provided.

About led mapping i see that u managed to map them for even different colors and flashing behaviour. We will discuss it but drama sweep effect chain is my top priority now.

For drama/sweep fx chain I need mapping as:

 1. Pressing encoder once on deck A →

a-)Select fx unit 1 on with fx group (including Reverb, Peak filter, Iceverb)
b-)Select fx unit 3 on with single fx (Delay) with max dry/wet value and %50 filter, %50 feedback and %75 rate values

 1. Rotating encoder on deck A →

a-)Change the dry/wet value of fx unit 1 and the parameters(Reverb, Peak filter, Iceverb) of the effect chain on fx unit 1 with same sensitivity
b-)Have delay freeze(feedback on on fx unit 3) when effect chain reaches max.

 1. Pressing encoder second time on deck A → Take all back to normal for deck A

 2. Pressing encoder once on deck B →

a-)Select fx unit 2 on with fx group (including Reverb, Peak filter, Iceverb)
b-)Select fx unit 4 on with single fx (Delay) with max dry/wet value and %50 filter, %50 feedback and %75 rate values

 1. Rotating encoder on deck B →

a-)Change the dry/wet value of fx unit 2 and the parameters of the effect chain(Reverb, Peak filter, Iceverb) on fx unit 2 with same sensitivity
b-)Have delay freeze(feedback on on fx unit 4) when effect chain reaches max.

 1. Pressing encoder second time on deck B → Take all back to normal for deck B
