Traktor Pro with X1 MK2? ISSUE

Hi,

I am thinking of buying a Traktor X1 (Getting it for £40 off a friend) for an 18th party I am djing for later in the month. The issue is that I am using Traktor Scratch Pro 1.2.2 but the X1 will only work with Traktor Pro 2 or higher. I cannot upgrade Traktor as I am on Windows Vista (I know I am upgrading to a new laptop soon) and upgrading to Windows 7 is not an option yet.

My question is can I map the X1 using Traktor Pro 1.2.2 as midi controller or is the X1 not compatible at all with Traktor Pro 1.2.2??

Are you able to install the latest NI Controller Editor?

What you could try is using it in midi mode (press shift plus both load buttons) and map it yourself. It should work that way although it takes a while to map, or get a mapping off the internet. I think that should work as long as the user mapping doesn’t require an alteration in the controller editor.

That should enable MIDI mode on the X1 allowing you to map it manually.
