Traktor scratch certified mixer?

hey guys,

I am looking to buy a mixer and i never used time code with traktor scratch pro. and was just wondering do you need to have a traktor scratch certified mixer to use time code or can can i use any mixer? i am looking at getting a Ecler Nuo 2.0 mixer.

thanks

It needs to be approved

KitchenAid mixers are siiiiiiick

You can use any mixer with your Audio 8 and timecode.

If you have a PC, you can use the DENON DN-X600 Digital Mixer and config as a X1600 in the Wizard for timecode/DVS operation. Its an excellent mixer with superior sound, 8in/8out sound card, MIDI and 32-bit output DACs.

More info here:
http://www.denondj.com/DN-X600-P124.aspx

Other certified Denon mixers are:
DN-X1600
DN-X1700 (coming early next year, but PC users can get DVS support now by selecting X1600 in the Wizard for PC)

hmmm.. bit of a biased response

i kid :stuck_out_tongue:

Doesn’t work on a Mac?

Only certified TSP mixers work on a Mac, X600 is not TSP certified for Mac or PC.
You can trick it out to work with a PC without certification by selecting our “other” certified mixer in the Wizard > X1600.

You can use any mixer as long you have a Native Instruments Audio4 or Audio8 for Time code. There’s very few mixers out there, but you can seek out the Korg Zero4, its discontinued, but its still a great mixer for the Traktor. I can use that without an Audio8 attached since it has a built it sound card and it is Traktor certified for time code.

Interesting

Is Denon talking on how to hack TSP with a uncert mixer?

If the mixer isn’t certified, you will need Audio8/4. If it is, then you do not need an external audio card (Audio8/4, or similar) as it’s built-in. You can use almost any mixer with TSP but you will need an audio card.

This could be interesting…

Nope, both the TSP certified X1600 mixer and uncertified X600 mixer share the same ASIO Driver for PC, therefore the X600 is able to work in the same way for DVS since its also 8in/8out like the X1600.

No hack, it just works.

Hello Silvio, I mean no disrespect, but last thing we want is NI knocking on DJTT door and asking why we have info on how to run Traktor Scratch PRO/DUO without a cert. mixer or the audio4/8.

I am a bit hesitant to this one too Jes.

I understand, no sweat, it’s just a little tidbit fact, that’s all, use it as you wish.

In this case having the same ASIO Driver is an advantage for the X600 user looking to use DVS for TSP on a PC. No laws were broken, its NI that allows it, not us.

i love the denon statement because i feel like NI treat the people like jerks, let me explain:
I bought a vci-100 that came with traktor LE i upgraded to pro and pay 137 us dollars. Few months ago i bought a xone 4d mixer (It is no cheap), so it is a tspro certified mixer and even come with a 7 inch dvs vinyl but you can not use it tspro full only demo. Now i want to upgrade to TSpro but it is stupid amount of money for enable dvs function, 335 us dollars. So now it is cheaper to get an audio 8 or audio 4 with TSPRO or TSDUO. Fuck you NI i hacked and now i can use it with TSPRO. The beauty is that i am not using it, i use serato for dvs because i own it since five years ago and i do not want to use something i do not pay for it, just did to know how can be made .
The problem it is not about the money (if you can afford a 4d believe me you can afford whatever) it is not fare to pay 335 us dollars for “upgrade”.

Hmm, didnt seem to matter when that guy was posting about ghetto timecode setups that NI had to patch out.
Jus sayin’

Maybe NI will patch the Denon X600 out, its easily done?
Would seem a bit harsh but…

The NI prices are fully stated on their website. If it came as a shock then you didnt research it properly. All that stuff about the 7" and demo mode, did you not read all that prior to buying?

Well done you hacked your software. Isnt that one of the reason that software companies use to keep prices high..?
Self defeating act..?

At that point I was still fresh, did not want to fully acknowledge the responsibilities a mod/admin has, until I truly understood them.

We’re trying to cut down the illegal talk as much as possible. If you think we need to cut some threads regarding NI or whatever, just let me know, and I will see what I can do you for.

But that’s just my 2 cents.
