UK DJs! Anyone got experience with http://www.djfinancedirect.co.uk

Hi guys,

Looking to purchase some Rekordbox CDJs in the next month on a 0% APR payment scheme. Anyone hand any experience with either:

http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk

Many thanks

First one seems a bit like if you underpay them by a penny youll have 3 ugly fu**ers at your door the next day. Either its late and im being lazy, but all there information on the financing is available “by written request” which sounds dodgy to me.

Don’t buy shit you can’t afford outright. If you wind up in hospital, can’t get gigs, lose your residency, or whatever else, then you’re up shit creek with no income and responsibility to keep up with your payments; if you can’t keep up, you could lose your credit rating, your car, your house, or your legs.

Buy an S2 or a Mixtrack Pro, use that until you’ve got £4k in the bank, THEN spend your money on expensive gear.

i have used both sites for gear no problems.

There are plenty of used CDJs on the market.

Hey guys, thanks for your responses.

@Makar1 I’ve been looking at second hand CDJs, but having spent a lot of time dealing with second hand equipment on Gumtree I’d rather not be spending in expense of a grand cash in hand, there’s so much that could go wrong, I’ll reconsider buying them from Ebay though.

@mcdesign I appreciate the risks involved with credit however I’m to receive a bonus in September which will allow me to pay the remainder off instantly and in the mean time have a very secure job which pays about 4x the monthly amount to be paid every month.

@TommyQuiet that’s good to hear

@JayRuss yeah, I get that impression too haha

so why don’t you just save up and wait?

Gonna run the risk of sounding like a spoiled brat here but nevertheless… In two weeks time I start my 4-5 month long summer with absolutely no commitments and I want to spend that time productively getting at home and creative with some CDJs.

Had no experience with Dolphin but a friend bought his CDJs from DJFinance and I’ve heard no complaints from him.
If you can afford the repayments and are happy with the credit terms then why not go for it?

Bloody tempting…

I can 101% vouch for DJ Finance as a solid and trustworthy company, I have had 4 friends who have used their service and it has been professional yet overpriced.

You are paying more for a product, which is why the charge 0% on the credit.

Once you have been accepted for the credit the product reaches you very quickly. They are super helpful on the phone too.

If you need the equipment now then I would use them, just make sure you pay within the time-frame they give you, as if you fall behind the charges will mount up.

I am aware this sounds a little like a paid advert hahaha! Just want to help as places like this are always a worry - My best friend got stung badly by dj deck stands a while back.

Thanks for your useful feedback dude! Just wondering, I know this is the sort of question I should be asking them directly but nevertheless - as it’s 0% APR are you able to just pay off one lump sum when you can afford it?

Cheers

Yes, I’m pretty sure, without asking my mates, that you can ring up early (like any credit agreement) and pay off the lump sum months earlier than the course of agreed credit - saving you money.

Like I say so though mate, they are so helpful - just give them a bell and they’ll take you through everything.

The thing that impressed me most was my mate sorted it out online and within 2 days had his stuff by recorded courier, was super fast turn around.

Good luck mate.

paying off a loan early can sometimes incur a penalty charge. best to check with them.

Overpriced? I priced up a DJM-850S and it came out at £1299 - the same price as it on sale on most DJ gear sites…

The cheapest site I know (Thomann) has it at £1,256.63… I’ll pay £43 for 2 years free finance any day of the week. :+1:

I suggest you did a little deeper than a Pioneer mixer man; perhaps their FX units, check the NI equipment also.

The mixer you have listed is a rarity on their site as a fair price. Some of the equipment is over ÂŁ200 higher than some stores.

As I’ve found out with everything in life, do research first, post later my friend; it saves you the time of writing your reply…and me the time of writing this one.

Great advice, always make sure you check with the company before agreeing anything.

Why would I care what they are charging for gear that I’m not interested in buying?

Children…

This. Because this is also one of the reason of our still current credit crunch.
