UK Midi Fighters - a couple of questions…

this is for people in the UK who have purchased a Midi Fighter, I am really interested in getting one as they are one of the slickest bits of tech i have seen for awhile, so simple yet so perfectly formed

I wanted to know from UK customers…

  1. how long did delivery take in total from placing the order?

  2. how much was the price of the MF all-in including any customs taxes etc when you pciked it up from the post office?

between 2 and 4 weeks and up to about £27 taxes.

cheers mate, i saw that thread but its a year old so wanted to know if prices/taxes etc had gone up.

Just received my midifighter last week,
It cost £25 for import tax and £107 for the midifighter with clear top
and without case.

As fullenglish said about four weeks give or take, just depends how
busy djtt are

and how slow customs are.

Yeah pretty slow, it didn’t help that my midifighter arrived on
The bank holiday weekend which delayed it’s arrival even more.

Oh well got it now, it’s great having two midfighter to play with tho

Cant wait till tomorrow when the midifighter pro is released,
not sure if I will get one tho just cause I reckon uk customs
are going to be charging round about £70-£80 onto the cost…ouch!

how do you know they’re being released tomorrow?

Ean put up a post in the new midifighter thread,
saying they are announcing something (midifighter pro?) on weds.

theres been a delay on the announcement because they were waiting on parts
and they were not going to release anything until everything is ready for shipping.

This is only what I’m guessing I could be totally wrong tho.

Have you seen the new website yet?

Just pm’d you

I don’t want to post any info up here in case I get in trouble,

looks like it’s all disappeared now anyway. Funny that a site whose forum is VERY good at picking up on leaks and accidental early releases should fall foul of that itself!

Yerp - a bit of a security boo boo on our developers part - only adds to the intrigue though!

As already said it does take a while for them to arrive but well worth it. So grateful to DJTT for a no quibble 2xPCB replacement when they both failed at the same time.

If only there was a way to bypass customs tax but it’s not strictly legal. Well worth the investment for the continuing support here. Looks like i will be hit again if upgrade kits are offered. RCF sub getting sold shortly to fund purchases if, as i hope, kits are stocked.

Mine took a fair while to get through customs.

We need a UK franchise ?! I’ll do it !

This was discussed a few months back, Maybe worth resurecting because a UK DJTT store/franchise would definitely be worthwhile.:smiley:

Uk franchise would be sick for us Brits

Might have to treat myself to a MF for my birthday in july.

one other question…

how easy are they to set up? I am a bit of a noob and have only been djing for 12 months and I see threadsabout flashing firmware etc which might be a bit beyind me

in most cases, easy as hell. The firmware update program shows you all the steps and it only takes 2 minutes. If you have problems, there are guides all over this forum.

i have just spent half an hour playing with different button combinations and different colour cases

also when used with the Instant Gratification mapping what are the bank buttons for? I have the mapping on a launchpad but instead of the top four button being “bank” they are set up for sample decks on the mapping i have.

Read the midifighter menu mode sticky. They switch between 4 banks of the bottom 12 buttons, so you effectively have 36 buttons available.
