Is it me, or has anyone who’s been watching any of Ultra noticed alot of DJ’s trainwrecking. I noticed Tiesto the first week, right now Laidback Luke has trainwrecked about 3 times in 20 minutes… and I def remember some from last week, just can’t put a name on it. Makes you wonder/realize that not all producers are set out to be DJs, but theyre paid to go out their and perform cause their songs are famous. Not hating, I’m super jealous of all of em, but theres def been more than a fair share of trainwrecks.
interesting, that def could be it hahahahah. ill have to keep an eye out and notice, but ive def heard of instance when one DJ will almost forget to the fader down on track b or so when trying to cue it up. oh well, we’ll c
i caught martin solveigs set online last year. he train-wrecked most of his set. though i liked the individual songs he played, they didnt really…flow…together
Yeah exactly. Makes it seem more human rather than just a computerised jukebox.
The best I saw was a needle jump and Nina Kraviz fixed it instantly on the cdj which she was mixing in.
I even like it when I see big DJs put two tracks together that don’t quite go, because you know it’s likely the first chance they’ve had to try it and you can hear them trying to make it fit as best they can.
i would say most of them are drunk while their up there. while that may seem very unprofessional because people pay a lot of money to go to these events, its nice to know that, top djs/producers are as human as we are.
for instance, i respect dillon francis for calling himself out in his set when he messed up. it shows hes honest. and dude, backed it up with a dope set, overall.
Its more profitable if they play their own songs live. + They can get giant groups of people to come see them. I definitely can’t get thousands of people to come see me play back a tiesto song, but I’m sure tiesto can
YES! this! that was awesome. AND I LOVEDIT! but what i mean by trainwrecking is not little imperfections, but i mean entirely dumb things, like i said, cueing up a song and not realizing the volume on that deck is all the way up, and then turning the volume down, and then bringing the song back in.
but no, the dillon francis mess up was amazing. i loved it. it made me smile to see someone screw up and call himself out and start over.
^ I felt the same way when flosstradamus said whoops after they forgot the bass down.
Krewella is really a live act. I’ve seen them live and the energy in the room is always great when they perform. I got to talk to Rainman after the show and he told me they’re still working out the live vocals part. I figured they’ve have had it worked out for Ultra but I guess not.
I think Deadmau5’s set got fucked up too. Cause I watched it last weekend, and then im watching it now again and it seems less smooth (maybe cause i was intoxicated?). However, god damn you can hate him all you want but he’s an awesome producer and puts on one hell of a fucking show.
He’s coming out with a new one very soon. The thing is, this is why he has to push play, because he puts on a full show. It has a lot of visuals that go into the set, and a lot of effects. So it’s not like he can just go up and throw in diff tracks here and there. I will say this, I do appreciate his show and the craftsmanship as well as the thought that went into it.
