Using a synth lead to replace a bassline…

Hey you guys, I know this sounds wack and might be a weird question but hear me out.
I’m currently working on this new track and the melody and everything sounds GREAT.

BUT, now I’m stuck. The bass, no matter what key I put it, doesn’t fit in properly. I have this synth lead running over it, and another that are already quite deep. One synth runs the entire song and my thought is if I increase the bass on that, and make it slightly more heavy will this be acceptable regards to bass in a song? (this track is deephouse/techno-ish)

I know that’s eventually up to me to decide, but I would like some feedback and other opinions on that, what do you think and what do you look for in a song? thanks in advance

Just make a duplicate track with the same midi notes/synth and just drop it down an octave or two. Nothing wrong with doing that for adding some low end.

Hey that’s actually a good solution  Didn’t think of that one haha

K.I.S.S. my friend, K.I.S.S.

On the “bass” track now, assuming it’s a poly synth, you could then add an extra note a 5th or 7th above the current “bass” notes, and then add some tape saturation or even over drive and then add an auto filter and automate it to open up during certain parts of the track to give it more grit and drama and make it come to life.

just a thought

Yeah, I’m still in the stage of making the sounds and putting it all together haha. I basically just tweaked the sound so it’s on the low end, added a bit of bass, put it down an octave and put a complimenting melody. It really sounds great and fills up the track nicely .
