Using external sound card for iTunes?
I use the Numark DJ IO as my sound card for Traktor and that all works fine but if I want to output audio from a program like iTunes, the only way I can do it is through my Mac’s speakers or headphone jack. The settings don’t give me an option to output via the DJ IO. Does anyone know how I can get this to work?
Yeah, you gotta set the interface as the standard output in your Mac’s system preferences.
go to audio/midi in applications>utilities. In audio the soundcard should show up as a device. Select it for system sounds or output device.
Hmm, I jsut tried this but the soundcard doesn’t show up in audio devices. Here is a screen shot showing my Traktor preferences (which show the soundcard) and the Mac audio preferences (not showing the soundcard)…?
Have you installed drivers for the DJ IO?
Yeah, that’s why Traktor is able to pick it up but for some reason the Macintosh setting’s don’t seem to
