Using Traktor S4 to adjust load cues and beat grids

I would like to know if it is possible to use my Traktor S4, or perhaps another midi controller (I can use this one just for beatgridding purposes), to do the following without having to touch my MBP.

  • set Load cues (change an existing hot cue to a load cue)
  • erase existing beat grid
  • set new beat grid
  • adjust the beat grids (fine tune and move grids left and right)

I basically do not want to have to touch my MBP when going through all my tracks to beatgrid.

If you can map you can do this for the S4’s midi mode. If you map it using focus instead of controls per deck you could save yourself a lot of time too. Those jogs could be nice for beatgridding.

Can you elaborate a little?

I have once mapped a midi keyboard when I didn’t have a “real” controller, so that I can use basic transport functions.

I am not sure if that’s what you mean by knowing how to map.

After a little thought, I think I’d rather use a separate controller to beat grid, which I do have., so I do not have to mess with the Traktor S4 mapping.

I guess I am not really sure what S4 midi mode is…
