VCI-100 and Traktor Pro Help

VCI-100 and Traktor Pro Help

I’m new to Digital DJing and just got Traktor Pro and a VCI-100 (I was definitely motivated by seeing the awesome DJ Tech Tools videos on YouTube!). I’ve got the most recent version of Traktor Pro and NI’s latest VCI-100 mapping, but there is a pretty bad lag when I let go of the wheels when cueing or scratching (it acts like a belt-drive turntable) I think I’ve set the audio latency low enough (5 seconds). Is there a fix for this? Please help! Thanks!

Which Firmware are you running on the VCI ?

Have yo tried using Eans Mappings instead of the NI ones. See the Mapping section above.

Gav

No, there is no fix for this.

Ean’s .tsi doesn’t resolve this, but someone has uploaded a .tsi that might. I dunno who, but it’s in the Mappings section of the forum.

Really, just how bad is this. I havent noticed this in the videos ive seen.

i learnt to Dj on a pair of belt drives that were a friends. I dont wanna go back to that.

Tell me it isnt that bad.

Mine doesnt do this i’m sure i’m using eans latest tsi.

It’s a limitation inside Traktor. The person’s .tsi I am referring to apparently can circumvent this somewhat.

i don’t scratc but i will scratch a beat in and i def don’t get this belt drive action when i release the jogwheel, not noticable anyway.

How bad is this?? when he says like a belt drive i’m presuming pretty bad?

Is this not the rampup issue that was solved with a FW upgrade ?

Come back mr post author so we can try to help

I experience this also. If you cue it by touching the platter and release to like a kick or snare, it takes about a few milliseconds to get to playing speed. I kinda work this out by just pushing the platter when releasing, but takes skill. I tried the djDecks software and there is no problem like this, but there are different problems. Hopefully when 1.4FW comes out, the 14bit midi functionality will fix this and work like a VCI-300??

Once again, I don’t think this is a hardware-related issue.

Do you have the VCI-300 working in TPro like this?

After messing with djDecks, Im beginning to think it is a software issue. I haven’t had a chance to try the 300 with TPro yet. I guess all it takes is a good tsi.

Well, the vci-300 will work on tpro, tpro can’t read 14 bit midi from the jogwheels yet.

Thanks everyone-- I didn’t know about the firmware fix for the “ramp-up” issue. I just ordered the firmware update kit from DJ Tech Tools, which sounds like it’ll take care of the problem. I’ll post again once I do the update.
