in order to get rid off that ramp up thing i used the advice given by ean in this article
the ramp up issue is gone âŚ
but..
scratching with the jog wheels has a whole different feeling to it now..
actually its very buggy, its not accurate and u can not scratch on the point..
sometime the jog wheel reacts when spinning sometimes it doesntâŚ
i have tried many different mappings but all of them have the same issue when fixing the ramp up problem..
it has nothing to do with the screws of the plate, because
if i set the midi mappings to the command with the ramp up problem, scratching works just perfect⌠(except the ramp up problem)
has anyone ever had the same experience?
having a gig on saturday and wanna fix this problem..
Sorry dont have a fix but what do you mean you use the command for the ramp up issue as i would like to see if i can do this and see if the jogs feel better to scratch with with the ramp up issue (like you say though apart from the ramp up issue itself)
The ramp-up issue is non-existent for firmware 1.2 or 1.3 using any of Eanâs TPro tsis. It was a FW 1.1 thing, or newer firmware coupled with old tks files from Traktor 3 that did not have the new notes from the new firmware mapped.
Your best bet is to modify your Scratch command settings. What are they at right now? Also, it sound s like you might need to play with the sensitivity adjustments on the back of the vci.
@MisterMoley: Yes! Just for testing , i changed the midi mapping again to the old configuration with the ramp up issue .. and scratching feels normal again! its very accurate and nice (except the ramp up bug)
When removing the ramp up issue by remapping, the scratching feels just terrible and inaccurate..
@Zac Kyoti ⌠when i press both scratch buttons - the jog wheels are turned off..
what does that mean ? which FW do i have ?
My settings for the jogs/scratch are on default! 3% / 0 %
also the sensitivity adjustments are must be OK , because scratching is just fine with the old TKS assigned deck scratch ON to C3 on deck A and C#3 on deck B..
but with the correct settings to remove ramp up issue (The TKS should be mapped to the A#2 and B2 notes ) scratching is just awkward and buggy.. not precise and not reacting accurately..
Itâs not a technique, itâs a sound thatâs scratched and sampled a lot. You can find it on just about any battle/scratch record.
Itâs Aaahhh, being released, sometimes a little slow, producing the Whaahh that you hear. Just a dudeâs voice with a kinda white noise element to it. From âAhhh, this stuff is really freshâ. Fab 5 Freddy?
/bump
in my last post in this thread i posted that the problem has been solved.. but that was wrong.. just incidentally at testing it , it worked without problemsâŚ
but there is still exactly the same issues..
when i reconfigure my vci jog wheels to the old settings which cause the ramp up issue (even on a 1.2 fw this exists because the midi binds are the old ones) the jog wheels are very precise and accurate.. but when reconfiguring the jogs in order to get rid of the ramp up issue, my jogs wheels seem to be stiff and skip some signals..
so this has nothing to do with dirt etc. in my vci.. its simply a settings thing..
adjusting the sens of the jogs doesnt affect anything i noticed..
i hope anyone can provide a solution to this problem..
still using same equip as in post 1
Are you still on 1.2.1? I would upgrade to 1.2.6. If your not open to that did you load the updated tks file in Eanâs article or are you changing your own file? If your changing your own file maybe try Eanâs at the end and see if that fixes it. If it does then you now itâs in your mapping.
changing to eans mapping has no effect⌠still the jog wheels feel very strange..
i cannot update my traktor version..
any other hints?
i uploaded my tsi .. maybe that helps..
thx in advance
On the topic though, I still have no idea what youâre saying. The âramp upâ issue was a vci firmware 1.1 issue - it never had anything to do with any version of Traktor. If your vci has fw 1.2 or greater, youâre good to go. It might help us help you if you told us what settings your scratch commands are at. Fw 1.2-1.3 try 3% sensitivity, 4% acceleration. 1.4 try 1% sensitivity, 3% acceleration.
i changed the rotary accelaration , and hmm it feels better , but still not as precise as it is when i change the scratch on settings to the ramp up midi notes.
my vci has fw 1.2
i tried to change the sens. of the jogs on the vci , but that does not improve the precision ..
Hmm, yeah, since your settings look fine, my vote would be to upgrade/purchase as well. How 'bout an audio sample? Iâm interested to hear what itâs doing for you.
Also, I didnât realize this was a somewhat necro thread, and didnât read through the whole thing again. You already mentioned your scratch settings, sorry to ask you for em again. What exactly are the settings/note numbers you use for the âmore accurate but ramp-up problemâ version? I wanna see if I can duplicate your issue.
