jk of course. It’s nice to have this subforum!

I really love my vinyl as it’s all that was available when I started back in 1977.

Would I gig with vinyl now? No way!

It never ceases to make me laugh when I read people who post about how a 17" laptop is too heavy or cumbersome to carry to gigs, ask about where to get new music from (when it’s all just a download away), ask how to keep their music organised (when programs make it so easy) or moan about the price of tracks.

I wonder how these people would have coped if they only had vinyl as an option, had to actually get off their backsides and go hunting in new and used record stores for that killer track, had to carry crate loads of vinyl to gigs, keep it organised and, where necessary, import tunes from another country at great cost if they were not available in your own.

No, I love my vinyl, but I love it for home use only.

The main reason I jumped from vinyl only to DVS is that you would spend hours sifting through your record collection for the night’s gig, only to get there and remember some awesome tunes you left at home. But you just had to deal with it! Oh, and £1.99 for six remixes of one track on iTunes is a hell of a lot cheaper than the £5 + that one track plus remix will cost you on vinyl!

I love my vinyl and despite the cost I still buy tonnes of it, as I love the tactile feel of it all but two timecode records and a sound card weigh infinitely less than two boxes of wax when your playing out!

so how about some pictures of your vinyl collections?
I only got like 15 records (which I got for free with my TTs) and I don’t really listen to them as they’re not really what I usually play/listen but I sometimes put them on and try to beatmatch them (and fail miserably mostly:smiley:). Still an amazing feeling and look
