Vocal label in mix

Vocal label in mix

After a lot thinking I decided to release some mixes and possibly collect some online fame but I read a few threads where people say their mixes had got stolen, so what I want is to make some vocals saying my name and put in mix. Can you point me where should I start? Can all be done by software?

Start out with a microphone.

No shit, but with what can I process it? Also some nice fx for processing would be nice to mention

It would help if we knew what equipment you already have - soundcard/mixer specifically

And what software you have available to you too!

Hey Maris
to be honest, if you want to do this and have it sound like it belongs in the mix, youll need to have a little bit of knowledge in producing.
im not trying to push my service or anything but im am giving you insight.
If you have it done and its something you want to use many times in mixes, your BEST bet is to have them done by either a pro or someone who is really good at it

… so far thats me… i do it and have been for many years.

Otherwise, you can try it out yourself, the only down sides are
A) it wont sound good so it would throw off the feel of the mix to others and possibly yourself
B) You just wont like the outcome and it will take plenty of time lost.

If you want, ill see if this weekend i can make you a low quality sample and send it over for you.
You decide if you want me to make a pro one for you or not afterwards.

But to do something lke this, its easiest using DAW equipment
Digital Audio Workstation software like
Fruity loops
Cakewalk Sonar
Soundforge

things like that but again… you want them soon, youll need to know what you are doing.

PS, i have my wife do the female needed vocal stuff, and i do the big BOOM guy sounds.
Been doing this for like 1/3 my life now

I think it’s pretty unlikely your mixes will be “stolen” and claimed as someone else’s. There are just sooo many mixes online. Why don’t you just upload to something like MixCloud and disable downloads.

good point citizen
its funny though. i have gotten dj mix submissions sent to me, only to find out they were stolen mixes

one of them was my own, while i was doing it under an alias name a few years prior.
Talk about flaky… why bother if they wouldnt be able to keep it up?
Sorry. i dont want to change the topic here… carry on

What’s the price?

Any, just name it. Aren’t out there somewhere software that can produce vocal based on what I type in?

Why does that matter?

I have my purposes, stealing is just one of them.

If you have some nice and cheap service to suggest be my guest, I heard that on some forum they do such things.

Ok, merry xmas

How about 40 beans for 2 hi quality drops?
You and i can go over proper dialog youd like, pronunciation, boy and or girls voice.
Things like that

I always send them back in two formats
Raw .WAV file
and 320kbps stereo mp3

If it all works out to be pretty elaborate, ill even send you back all the files used to create the drops as a Remix Set so you can load them into either of your controllers and punch them in sequence while you mix.

Look dude, I can take a dam mic plug it in and record, shouldn’t be the pursuit on software?

It was a fair question, I was trying to help, if you can plug a mic in then perhaps be more specific with your questions..

Oh,
Happy New Year too

Does Gilbert Gottfried do DJ Drops?

I made my own DJ Name drops for fear of having my mixes stolen as well. If you’re on a Mac you can just use Garageband to record yourself saying whatever you wish. I just used my generic iphone headset to record and surprisingly the quality was pretty damn good!

I then layered some cool effects and sounds to make it unique. Just use a bit of intuition and you can create something really awesome, I feel it makes it way more special if you create it yourself. Even if the audience doesn’t know or care who made your “name drop”, just spending the time to sit down and do it will give you a bit of extra ambition

Hey thanks dude!

Agree, btw i’m not on a budget to afford myself buying drops

I have such a strong welsh accent no matter what fx I add i still sound local as fuck. I have used the apple text to speech thingy in the past. Bit generic but it gets the job done.

Is that 40 US beans? I may be interested in getting some done in the new year. esp if I can have the files in a remix set to play with at my hearts content.

Any of your previous drops online so I can take a listen?
