Is it safe to aim a blue 150 mw laser at the dance floor or concert audience??? Fixture is always in Sound Active mode.

What, like in their eyes?

you want any lasers elevated above the crowd pointed down so you dont eye rape anyone

should have read the manual tbh. the manuals for 5 Mw lasers already say no so I figure 30 times more power is a no-no.

seriously: aimed above the crowd. any laser to the eye is 1. extremely annoying 2. with stronger lasers (like yours), dangerous when aimed at the eye for to long. i wouldn’t even want a laser pointer aimed at my eyes.

Aiming lasers at crowd.

Given those answers (and thank you for them) Why do so many DJ videos, even a pro video for Ableton, show the laser aimed at the crowd??

Yeah its very safe, i have often gaffer taped a lit zippo lighter to a butane can and tossed it in to the crowd…

Or to really kick life in to a quiet party, i pour water on to pans full of boiling fat when heated by gas hobs … spectacular..

(The last 'un is actually a true story, dont try that at home folks… But i did nearly shit a kidney laughing )

I’m helping a friend setup for this new years and were getting a 500mw laser which I think is way over kill for the party but it’s all I could talk him down to. He originally wanted a 1 Watt which is insane for the venue. Were building a shelving unit to keep it elevated above the floor but this venue has low ceilings. Should be interesting to see what happens.

The ADJ site for the Royal laser (350 mw) shows a video with the laser aimed from above right down into the dance floor … but the manual says not to aim it at people’s eyes … so what if they look up?? Its very confusing!! I plan to have the laser at 10 feet in the air, and always in Sound active mode, but some of the patterns spiral into the crowd/dance floor … again, is this safe??? Thanx for all the real answers

so what if they look up??
[/quote]It might temporarily blind that person & will probably cause some discomfort. Which is enough to make most people stop looking up.
For the 0.1% that’s too stoned or too stupid to quit looking up, that’s what liability insurance is for.

So, how’d it go ?? Was it safe ? Any complaints about lasers in the eye?
