Warmup Essentials

Warmup Essentials

Hello everyone. I go by the name Foolish, and recently broke into the club scene a little over a year ago. Since then, I have opened up for the likes of Doc Martin, Colette, Prok & Fitch, Cutsnake, and many more.

Starting from today, every Sunday I will be releasing a 10 track beatport chart showcasing my absolute must-have warm up tracks. Not only are these tracks carefully selected by myself to guarantee to draw the crowd in (and keep them there), but is ordered by what you would play at the start of the night, till your very last minutes before you hand the reins off to the next act.

I absolutely LOVE the art of warming up. It can get quite deep and intricate the more you look into it. I think the art is slowly becoming lost and becoming a “filler” gap, where warm up acts are putting less and less thought into it. This chart is dedicated to bring you guys tracks that fit the warm up slot perfectly.

I will be updating this thread every Sunday starting from today.

Vol 2 of my Warmup Essentials chart is up now

Will definitely check this out later on. Just out of curiosity, do you get any perks from beatport for doing this

No perks from beatport. I’m making this weekly chart so I can keep activity going on & I have a lot of music that I want to share

Vol 3 is up now

Make sure to follow me on my SC & Facebook

Loving the tech house tunes, definitely keep em coming.

Kinda weird…

I never took much stock in other people’s track list. A big part of being a good DJ is the ability to find music that speaks to you, will connect with the crowd and be unique.

I agree with this, but seeing what others are playing and getting some ideas and exchange music is always a good thing. Same as going out and hearing a tune and think “oh i like this one, I need to get it” or hearing a mix online and try desperately to find that tune you just heard… its all about education and having new options, wether you were the one to find it by yourself or it was part of another DJ’s mix/list.

I agree with you there. I know I steal like an artist, but it seems a bit much for a weekly chart. I am also a mobile dj, so i do weddings and listen to all kinds of music.

I don’t like charts - to me they seem to generalize djs into doing the same shit and water down the collective by this idea of buying tracks just because they are on a chart. I feel there should be more to picking tracks that speak to you and align with your dj brand than just getting a song because it is popular. The best feeling is when you can play tracks are not in the beatport top 100 and connecting people to those tracks that they have never heard. I do have a lot of tracks that may or may not be on someones chart, but I don’t know because i never look at them.

To each their own.
