What are you doing to push your DJ/Production career forward?
Basically as the thread title says. What are you doing to push your career forward even if it’s just to improve in the bedroom or even get a small gig you would like?
For me I have personally had a great year so far and next year is looking even better
Im just practicing as much as possible and working in Maschine and the F1 into my live setup to do some original stuff and change it up a bit. Someone finally referred me to a local bar i’ve been wanting to play at and I have a spot next Wednesday
end of 2011/ beginning 2012 i massively correspondet with a lot of producer. asking them to send me some of their tracks to play them in the clubs or in my mixtapes. had a lot of success and got some good promo and made some good promo for others. this turned into getting a lot of request to play certain tunes and so. it´s a give and take. in result i got a big load of gig-requests and they are still coming in. looking forward to 2013. gonna do 3-6 gigs this year and call it a year
It’s good to hear you two are pushing forward and know what you want to do
For me I secured a gig at Ministry of Sound in London next month, away to start night classes in sound production and plan on stepping up the game a little in my residency and trying new things there..
I’m currently in a project to finish a full length album.
Academically I suscribed to a seminar on sound physics and acoustics, got an offering for teaching production ableton for the summer and I’m in a project in writting a blog.
Developing a live set performing my own tunes instead of classic djing
I actually recorded each week from January till Juny 2012 a little mix to promote myself, by the end of the year I had more or less 1500 downloads. In the production aspect, I’m finishing an EP, but I actually want to make an album, and also I’ve remixed some known artists to promote myself easier. But obviously there’s still a long way to get fame!!! btw congrats for your gig on ministry of sound, that’s AWESOME!!!
I’ve only found the last one, the other ones are taken off from Zippyshare xD most of them were 1 hour long, but in the last show I decided to test myself, so I tried to do a 3-hour mix, pretty awesome xD btw it’s mainstream electro & progressive house, I understand you don’t like it
Still just trying to put out good mixes for the scene I’m interested in. I’ve only played live once (amazing gig though) and I’m dying for more. I’ve been in talks with another DJ in the city to possibly host our own event so we can both get more recognized…
I 'm also really eager to try that. Some dudes my age in my area are making a nice amount of money of of it. All whilst fueling their passion for music. Pretty cool.
Trying to work outside of my box.
Mixdowns, mastering.
Just done a 100% original set to be aired on friday 8:30pm at www.purpleradio.co.uk (cheeky self promotion and it has an exclusive new track)
Hoping to branch out into more collaborations.
Trying for blog features, getting a few and just general networking with blogs.
Talking production with local DJs.
Hoping to piece together an EP since I can’t keep things secret for shit.

[/quote]. Hahaha in the bedroom love it totally wanted to do a fixed but there’s nothing to fix
As I don’t Dj out anymore, I’m basically just picking up gear and trying new things.
I took most of 2012 off from anything music minus a few mixes, to focus on college, but 2013 hoping to finish an Album I am working on an putting more production stuff out, and some dj/live remix sets out for the fun of it.
