what bit rate do you recommend 256 or 320?

At the moment my music collection via mp3 is a mess. Do you recommend converting songs from a cd to 256 or 320? I also was thinking of deleting any mp3 I have that are 128 and 160. I would keep 192s. Thanks…

320 is obviously a higher quality track, but at the same time it will take up more space. If you are short on hard drive space, make it 256. Personally I prefer 320

320 or wav allways.

128kps is for pirates.

you cant take a lower quality bit rate track and make it a higher one. it wont magically make it better.

when you lower quality you delete data deemed ‘un important’
that doesnt come back when you make it a 320 or wav

320 or wav

Thanks guys 320 it is.

320 and never lower, I get my stuff from beatport so it’s all 320.

  1. If you are worried about space, get a bigger hard drive

arrr

they virtually cost pennies nowadays so theres no excuses

320 mp3, 256 AAC but some of my VBR stuff from emusic is as low as 130.

320 or forget it.

Only my Itunes Top 40 tracks are lower than 320.

And Apple Lossless?

Some songs I have in .flac format if they sound decent enough! But the lowest quality I go down to is 256Kbps if I can find it on any premium download sites (Juno, Beatport, DnB Arena). Just annoying that for an extra 50p charge for a higher quality why can’t they add a comment with the key of the song!!!

I have MIK and don’t mind roughly analysing songs, but for that extra 50p it is a small change that will make premium download sites a hell of a lot more DJ and user friendly

no less than 320
if i really like a track i actually get the flac/wav as well, you will notice it especially on bigger sound systems

320… you’l notice when you start manipulating the track such as slowing down or scratching…

i got some 192 stuff that i have no problem playing…on a typical club system it really doesn’t matter..i don’t think atleast…(not here to start a fight)…of course do 320 every time you can…but there is nothing wrong with 256…

heard awesome 192’s and crappy 320’s (legal ones, not ten times converted by whoknows). if you have the option to choose ALWAYS go for the higher quality one. sound is king.

320 for me
