a midi mixer that could be used for 4 deck control and for effects would be sweeeeet…
The cases for the pros are custom made too
The arcade buttons and faders are not custom, they are freely available.
There are lots of places to get PCBs made in small batches.
There are loads of places to get plastic laser cut to make the top and bottom plate.
Then you just connect it all up with standard wire and bolts.
go on then make me a midi mixer ![]()
I actually could pretty easily, people do it all the time, there are loads of midi brains out there. I’d struggle with the software side of it though… I know jack about coding.
ha you guys are worse then kids at christmas, why not wait and see, theres loads of people saying mixer, surely there is a mixer out there in the market that compliments a midi fighter i think that 4midiloop controller with a soundcard would be ideal or wait… The x1 which ean prob helped make with a soundcard
There’s not one decent stand alone midi mixer for the average DJ on the market my friend, not one.
i know i have tried
i know how difficult it is! i have a pile of bits on my work bench UMC32, old m-audio mixer board i was gonna turn into a midi fighter style mixer with a top plate and open circuit board (like the original mf with no silicon case) but i just don’t have the time to put into it, and i have little to no money to get the plastic cut on a small scale, finding certain parts is hard too.
Yeah it’s all a bit of a pain. I don’t have the patience for it ![]()
And honestly I don’t need any new midi gear other than a keyboard so I really shouldn’t.
for 2 deck mixing the djm101 isn’t all that bad. a 4 deck version of that with some extra pots and maybe some encoders would be very cool.
Sorry, I meant mixer style midi controller, not a midi capable mixer!
ah… re: “need” new midi gear… guess i don’t either but that won’t stop me ![]()
I didn’t say the faders were custom I said as an individual you can’t just buy four of the ones they use
I asked were the clear sanwa buttons custom. I know you can get arcade buttons and even clear ones in a different brand.
It sounds so simple!
Problem is build one single unit and it will end up costing a bomb.
u weren’t refering to the djm101 there i presume - as all it is is a simple midi controller - nothing more.
Oh that thing, nah the build’s too poor for me!
I’m looking forward to see whats gonna get released next.
I hope that the updater is out for the MF Pros before they release another product tho!
the midifighter ULTRA! feat. touchpads / strips
my ideal controller would be a numark stealth (because the black looks a lot more professional) 4 deck controller with built in soundcard and touch sens wheels, I dont think ill be upgrading my omni till it dies, it does everything I need it to and its layout suits traktor perfectly
I had an exclusive look at the Midifighter 2 circuit board:
^ legit!!
