What headphones?

What headphones?

Hi all, im stuck in the debate of what headphones I should be buying, ive looked through numerous reviews, and all have mixed responses so im gunna have to ask you guys :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a budget of around £100.

They need to be comfortable, would like it if they looked nice.

Not too huge.

Im going to be using them when DJ’ing so they need to be loud.

I play mainly dubstep and drum and bass so that mught give you guys an idea of the sound im looking for out of them.

Thanksss

There are already heaps of other threads on this but I will give you an answer

I dont know what the exchange rate is but hdj 1500 are good so are v moda cross fade lp also if you can stretch your budget the HD 25II, hdj 2000, tma-1’s are the best headphones you can buy

Go to a shop and try it yourself.

Thanks for the replys, but the headphones you have suggested are over my budget, like i said though thanks anyway.

You really should save up for thoses recomanded as cheep models brake easy. There is a big diferenc between how you use DJ headphones and regular once. When you listen to music you put on the headphone and they stay on. While you DJ you put them on and take them of 100 times a night. Cheeper headphones are not made to be handeled the same way as DJ headphones.
There might be some not that expensive headphone that are well constructed. They can be made out of plastice but have good look at them to see if they might break easyly before making your desission. Buying cheep often means buying severla times.

get the hd25’s and you wont regret it

I would suggest HD25 but try them first on your head! Some don’t like the way they stand on their heads…

Sennheiser HD-280 Pro Headphones.

Great headphones. Great price. Perfect price for you.

EDIT Well they’re just under $100 U.S. currency. Don’t know what that means for pounds.

Bhajan, i searched for them on amazon.co.uk and they were like £130, but there like $110, im confused, and i dont fancy importing them because I got my s4 and rokits from this site, and all in it cost me over £1000 including import tax and delivery.

Sony MDR-V6 or MDR-7506 ..

Honestly best bang for buck under $100 and standard in pretty much every studio and many a sound engineer and DJ’s box for nearly 3 decades, sound awesome, plenty of volume, plenty of comfort and great isolation. VERY FLAT response, what you hear in the phones is what you get in your mix.

nearly 700 glowing reviews.

Oh did I mention they may well outlive your DJ career, super durable and worth getting the Beyerdynamic velour cushions btw as an add-on, the ones that come with them wear out in … ohhh 8 years or so.

Im saving up for the TMA’s beatport ed.

Well, they are good headphones (I had the 7506 for a good while), no disputing that. If they sell the V6 (which are - as I understand - the same as the 7506s just branded for consumers rather than professionals) in your country, by all means, go for them. In Germany they don’t, and with a price of 120€ the 7506 are not such a bargain anymore. I sold mine to upgrade to HD-25s which I personally like way better. Can’t pinpoint it directly, but I just prefer them in every way. (Well, while just now googling the prices for the HD-25 seem to have increased, I think I paid 170€ or maybe 180€ last year, now they are 200€ - which again changes the situation a bit)

Pioneer HDJ-2000.

When you absolutely positively have to hear every motherfuckin frequency in the song, accept no substitute.

A little expensive, yes, but really. Just save up the little extra and get it.

Agreed. I would have recommended these as well except they’re WAY out of his price range.

But if you’re in the market for a substitute, the RP-DJ1200, the HD25SP, the K181DJ HDJ500 are pretty decent

hdj-500 are a good one for that budget, seen plenty of guys using them in clubs round here. i managed to get limited edition black hdj-1000’s for £95 on sale online and theyre great

the 1000’s look like they would be nice, but the gold is so ugly

ive got all black

trust me and spend the extra £20. so comfy i use them on long train journeys lol! mine have taken a hammering and havent skipped a beat

A&H XD-40s: lightweight, good sound, easy to transport.
