What is Quantize Mode?

I’m still new to this.

On my VCI-100SE there’s a button called Quantize Mode, and in Ean’s walkthrough on YouTube he activates it and says it’s almost impossible to screw up the beat with it turned on.

But what does it do exactly?

thisis when u jump around in a track. it always keeps the beat…just try it

Like when using the Jog wheel? I reckon this is affected by the grid that I can set for my song then?
