Turned out to be a blessing in disguise as i deleted effects and started again and better ideas came from it. Heres the TSI if anyone wants to try. I have made a diagram but cant scan it till later but heres the file and a long winded explantion of the workflow.

Okay this is my first ever mapping and I gotta say I’m feeling the advantages of a personal mapping for my K2. Firstly I’ve got it set for three decks as I plan to use it later with T2.5 and my 3rd deck will be controlled by F1. I’m using deck AB and D. Deck D being the deck I rarely use, mainly for loops and samples and small transitional tracks, for this reason you will see I haven’t included a key adjust function, rather I used that knob for a beatmasher. I’ll try and explain this mapping as best I can beginning at the bottom. Two rotary encoders one for tree and the other for list. By pressing list encoder you open browser, you can then scroll using encoder, to assign track to deck you hold “shift 1” and scroll with same encoder , once desired deck selected keep pressing “shift 1” and press encoder and track will be allocated to deck then just press encoder by itself to return to decks.
By holding down the tree encoder and the press list browse encoder; this will change deck view for 2 decks to 4 decks. Also by holding down tree encoder and scrolling you browse your favorite’s crate.
Basic cue, play, prev and next functions are self explanatory.
“shift 1’ + top button = sync.
“shift 1’ + next button down = key
“shift 1’ + next button down = Drop hot cue
“shift 1’ + next button down = Delete hot cue
I have two ways of assigning effects to decks, I have a standard bank utilizing the ‘shift 2’ button and grid. Deck A is top row 1-4, deck B next row down 1-4 and deck D repeat process. However later depending on how you use effects in Traktor this may not be all that needed.
The Left hand fader you will see my gator section which is assigned to effect bank 2. By engaging fader this turns on effect, you can adjust rate with knob above and by pressing the gater rate button gives it that inverted feel. Below the fader is a decrease button that when pressed will decrease gator feedback as my preset sends it to max.
The other faders are for loop size and by holding “shift 2 “and fader will seek track. Loop active button is above.
The three knobs above this are the two key adjust and beatmasher to right. The three knobs above these are for effects assignation of effect bank 2 and 4. As the beatmasher and gator are on the effects banks respectively I found it handy to have the three fx assignations geographically linking them. fx assignition 1 & 3 aren’t needed so much as they are auto engaged by the three swoosh effects ala ARMYOFME4340 directly above. If these are engaged they give that dramatic effect to respective deck and any deck can then be freezed out using button to left and the rate then adjusted using the knob to left..
The beatmasher I have preset to take a four bar loop and give it a slight bashing, I like to engage basher so it loops, then seek back to other part of track, play then disengage beatmasher so the track plays from different section, similar to hot cueing beat jumping but using the dry wet allows you to blend transition. Again the other parameters can be adjusted using the top effect bank as it auto assigned to same effects bank. By engaging the effect on button beneath dry wet on this bank you engage the auto bouncer which can be adjusted as per normal effect bank, although I think I have preset values there. Beneath the p1 knob is the button and I have assign a weak mullhalon drive, gives a cool kind of effect and can be, again its parameters can be effected by effect bank above, also if you hold shift 2 + mulhallen drive it gives a higher pitch effect.
So, top left encoder is for master clock tempo adjust, pressing down engages auto and master is engaged by holding shift 1 plus pressing. The other three encoders engage respective master deck by pressing. Scrolling encoder engages pitch fader. The percent pitch can be changed from 2% to 35% for accurate beatmatching. By holding shift 2 and scrolling encoder this is for pitch bend.
I haven’t yet managed to get the second layer working which is where I’m going to place hot cues for the three decks. Also I haven’t mapped any LEDS yet, that’s to come once I work out how, for now I’m just happy to have achieved this much.
Give it a go and let me know what you think or if any bugs are present.
