What Midi Controller Should I Rock?

What Midi Controller Should I Rock?

I was looking to invest into some midi controller although I have a DJM 800 and might map it… But I was thinking of something with pads, knobs and faders for under 200$

I ran across an Akai MPD24 for ($170) and the Korg Nano Series Bundle for ($160) But I am open up to any suggestions such as a device like a VCI 100 or something better then the 2 I pointed out but around the $200 mark

thanks I appreciate it

midifighter! or the apc20?

apc20 is more than 200 USD and only has faders .. no knobs.
midifighter + lpd8 maybe?

You could try and dig up an Evolution UC33e and use a pad controller with it

I thought the apc 20 was going to come in at 200 USD… might be wrong though

I’ll beat tekki to the punch, but, BCR 2000 (can be picked up really cheap, got mine for free on DJTT some time back) along with your favorite pad controller, preferably something with faders, since you already have 999 knobs with the bcr 2000.

Carl Cox uses the BCR 2000 if im not mistaken?

And what about the M-audio Trigger finger?

I was under the impression he just used cdj’s. Might be wrong though.

Are you sure?

I have seen photos of him using cheap maudio Evolution controllers though…

0:28 what controller is that?

lol i heard he used a vci100 modded as well?

Thats the BCR 2000.

Not true, it’s a BCF-2000 because it has faders. Quite a difference in quality if you compare that Behringer unit to the Vestax PMC-CX he always carries around

def a bcf in that vid

not that it should matter what a pro is using right?

daft punk uses a bcr.

depends on what you want in controller

Oh. sorry guys, watched it during clas, and the poor quaility threw me off.

Behringer gets a pretty bad wrap, due to poor product support, and sketch drivers (bcd 2000 comes to mind, what a piece). However, the BCR 2000 worked like a charm the first time I used it (and the one I have is heavily used).

And why the comparison between the PMC and the BCF? They are not even in the same category.

EDIT

Yes, the behringer piece is a plastic, and feels flimsy, but hell, it works, and surprisingly doesnt have shotty drivers. Like I said, you can get them for next to nothing, and 16 knobs compliment any pad controller (which usually are on the lacking end knob wise) quite well. Like I’ve said, Tekki, one of the forum moderators here, uses the BCR, and even manually beatmatches with it (kinda ridic… i know).

no idea but thread in the begging was to help be decide on a midi controller =)

Yeah, I was kinda saying bcr 2000 and some other things.

If you havnt seen this already

thats a review of 3 pad controllers that djtt did. doesnt includ the mpd 26, but touches bases on 3 of the heavy ones.

Daft Punk uses the BCR 2000

NVM - Messages appeared in mixed order for some reason. Shouldn’t drink in the morning

for $200…how about the novation launchpad
