what speakers?
I am looking at buying some new speakers and was wondering on what you all would recommend. Im just using them in my house for small parties and whatnot; probably wont leave my house.
Im looking for something that is pretty much an all around type speaker, i.e. bass and good sound. thanks!

what is your budget? I am confused as to when people post that they want a piece of gear that does x but don’t tell us how much $ they are willing to spend to attain x.
sorry, budget would be inthe $100-$250 range
I’d suggest KRK RP5 G2, Studio quality monitors, they’re not made for giving parties, but they’ll do just fine.
$100-$250 per speaker or pair? Powered or passive?
I would think you could get used or new stereo gear or TV audio systems with 2x100W or so output for small house parties, maybe even a sub-woofer included. Certainly not for mobile DJ:ing but for in-house parties they work just fine.

lol. I don’t think people fully understand how much speakers cost. Like - you can get “good deals” on used equipment but “good deals” mean spending at least 500 dollars on speakers alone.
For instance - I have found some great deals piecing together a used PA setup but the whole thing after all is said and done is going to cost me in the neighborhood of 1200 dollars. New it would probably cost me closer to $2500 - 3000 so 50-60% off was a great deal for quality equipment.
