man seems like there’s more dj’s mixing trance, house, techno .. than any other genre of music.. who mixes hip hop..
Not yet, but I have been meaning to look into it. (Oldskool that is… It seems less and less newskool is getting my attention.)

While a lot of the music I spin has a lot of roots in techno I mainly spin:
Industrial, Powernoise, Breakbeat, EBM and Synthpop. Lately I’ve been incorporating house/techno (Zombie Nation, Freakquencer, and a few other things that I can’t remember off the top of my head).
Hip-hop is a strange bedfellow for the scene I’m in. The old school crowd hates it, but a lot of the new stuff that’s coming out (SMP, Stromkern, Rabbit Junk) has a lot of influence rooted in old skool hip-hop. For me, if a song has lyrics, it’s hard for me to spin it if they suck. And, well, to me, modern day rap lyrics that I hear… well… suck.

Personaly im trying to diversity my style at the moment. I curetnly just mix house and pop techo (David guetta, and all that shit that sounds like casada…not i dont actually play casada)
Im going to for a House/POP/Funk/Trance useing the POP and funk to bring in the audiane and then throw the house over the tracks to get people pumped up. From there you gota go chill again, so thats where i bring in the trance.
Oh, and I forgot. When I get pissed at the venue I spin at I’ll play metal once in a while, and when I feel like it I’ll play trip-hop if I think the crowd will dig it.
But nothing beats going from a straight ahead EBM track and then dropping a death metal song and seeing all these crazy hipster kids start slam dancing. There is very little as satisfying.
I play alot of Hip-Hop to pay my bills and have fun doin it . I play house and techno to feed my mind and have a life changing experience every time I do it .
ive played trance exclusively in the past. i switched to electro and progressive house at the beginning of the year. ive also played funky house and disco house.
mostly breaks, breaks with some more breaks. all sub-genres of breaks. some house, some chill with a very small hint of dnb every now and then.

We have similar styles. I play more house and ebm than anything else. And yes, I like to put on a death metal track every once in a while. lol

That’s awesome. I’m starting to delve into the house music thing. Can you point me at any acts that might resemble Memmaker, Nachtmahr, -RX? I know it exists as a genre title, but the DJs I’m around are all industrial DJs and, hence, know very little about this stuff outside of industrial.
I play electro, generally starting of funky with the likes of bag raiders/boy 8bit moving on to grinders like justice/boys noize etc. Generally I will wind up with a bit of hard breaks or D & B to set the stage for Kaon who plays D & B.
i mix downtempo/lounge/blunted beats. not really music for the dance inclined, but def the perfect soundtrack for leisure enthusiasts and hedz. i incorporate hip-hop, bossa nova, electronica, jazz, 60’s 70’s rock, etc., a plethora of genres that provide a laidback make love to your old lady vibe.
labkids radio. is a radio show i have been djing/co-hosting (5yrs) on sundays 12a-2a(cst) on www.krtu.org worldwide + 91.7fm when you visit or get trapped in san antonio, tx.

yeah like midifidler I play alot of electro, boys noize, justice, digitalism, mstrkrft, tepr, van she tech, and yes even crystal castles. disco electro funky house, hip-hop/grime, dub-step, breakbeat, synthpop, electopunk, downtempo, IDM, hardstyle, a little d&b, a little trance.
I jump around alot depending on the venue, crowd, or energy… or sometime how i feel
