Which Traktor controller? Thinking Z1…

Hi all,

First time poster… I mostly produce and work with people who DJ, increasingly I go to club nights with them and pretend to be doing it myself, but having dabbled a tiny bit now I’m feeling quite hooked… you can check our most successful mix here in case interested.

My friend uses an S2, so i want something that will help me practice cueing / using two outs to check mixes before i do them.

I dont want jogwheels and the S4 is a bit much for someone of my abilities, so I’m thinking of getting the Z1 - can i use this just as a controller for my mac tho? Will I have to use it as a soundcard or can I use my focusrite 2i4 (two stereo outs) for headphone cue practice?

Well, get the Z1 + X1 combination, or just the X1 with a mixer in a club.

As above, you’ll need something for deck transport controls. The Z1 is a great mixer/interface controller, but you’ll either need to use it with the iOS Traktor DJ app or get something like the X1 for decks and effects.
