Who has an i7 15" MacBook Pro?

Cus they look good?
Smell good.
Get you chicks.
Make you a better lover.
Enable you to run faster.

+1 oh and they will print money and turn into a jet to fly you to your own island.

no wait…that’s the iphone 4

Back on topic.

What are you going to be using for is the main thing we need to know.

If it is just program like Traktor or Serato the 13 inch MBP is more than enough. Hell I ran traktor on a 3 year old Lenovo with a Celeron M Single core processor!

Frying Turkey i think.

back off topic hah

I’m Chuck Norris. Your argument is invalid.

Leave it to the regulars to derail a thread. But seriously… You can’t have a topic like this without it turning into Mac vs pc.

All technical aspects aside- when I think of how I use a laptop… Taking it places, balancing it on precarious laptop stands while gig’ing, traveling with it… Why would I want to pay 2X or 3X what I could get of the same caliber in a PC?

This has always confused me. Not to mention a PC has more programs available and the technology is almost always available sooner (I’ve had my core i5 for almost 8 months now)

Mind you I am an iPhone fanboi and a ex Mac owner/enthusiast. I’m just rambling now… lol

Dude lighten up …

i made a stupid post to my mate who i know will only ever use a Mac and wouldnt touch PC if it was given to him.

My silly post is less of a derail than any serious post about PC cus the thread is not about PC.

This thread is/was all mac until someone else turned it into one that mentioned PC.
Chilly is not interested in PC or any comparison to PC cus hes a mac user like me.

I have never participated in Mac vs PC. I hate all that.

Ive no idea what the Chuck Norris thing is about.

Peace.

My turkey fryer is has the same finish as my macbook pro unibody.

Chilly i’ved used the 15" i5 and a 17" i7 for video production and you can see the speed difference when under heavy loads.

There was absolutely nothing serious about my last post, it’s all in good fun and light-hearted discussion. Sometimes the Internet doesn’t convey a post’s intent very well. I’m just giving the Mac guys a hard time for having such sexy gear… That I can’t afford…

Traktor Scratch Pro
Traktor S4
Serato
Maschine
Ableton

No chance you will ever see me with a 13" (too small) or 17" (too large). 15.4" is the perfect medium.

The topic wasn’t about size of the screen…it was about differences between i5 and i7 and the fact that I can’t search those terms because they’re under the character limit of 3 for a search

i5 is best value for money. i7 if you’ve got if your excess currency is causing you more problems

So true… i just read your post again and i got it totally wrong first time…
My boob

I amended Chillys post as well:

It is. I have too much $ which is why I fund Karlos and TeLLy’s habits.

ALL of their habits.

All joking aside, I buy what makes sense. The i7 is the chip that should future proof me for a while, but is it WORTH it…is there a significant difference

yes it is significantly faster during CPU intensive tasks

Sweet.

man if i didnt have to sell a kidney to buy one, i’ll be getting the i7 15 inch MBP as well

but for now i’ll have to be happy with my MBP 13 2.4 Ghz

i will probably swap out the hard drive into SSD and install optibay (and remove the super drive) for additional storage
