Would like some feedback

Hey guys!

Yesterday was the first time in a while I got a chance to make a practice mix. And after reviewing it I actually quite like it, so I’d like to get some feedback from you guys to see where my weaknesses are. It’s a minimal/techno mix, made on my extremely basic NanoKontrol mapping. I didn’t prepare anything, just tried to mix harmonically.

listening now. Tracklist?

This is according to the traktor history file, not sure how accurate that is :stuck_out_tongue:

By the way, I do have to admit I cut a small part out with audacity, really messed up there, luckily, the edit is hardly noticeable :stuck_out_tongue:

Nothing personal, but I hate it. Sounds like simplistic garbage a monkey with a cratefull of synths could have made. The songs, not your mixing. Your mixing is solid, but these songs suck.

No offense taken, minimal has a very specific crowd, it’s mostly a love or hate thing. My dad would say the exact same thing about the music if I’d let him listen

Thanks for the compliment on my mixing though!

No offense, but why did you click on a mix labeled as Minimal/Techno if you knew you didn’t like it? I pretty much make it a point to not listen to music I don’t like.

You came clean that’s what matters. Pretty solid all the way through. If I had to nitpick it would be these areas.

Bass was brought in a little heavy at 10:40 hold it a little while longer to a break or something to help ease the transition.

Something sounds kind of off around 15:20, muffled like. Not sure if it’s you or maybe just the song.

Bass heavy again at around 52:45. You get new sounds at 53:11 and around 53:30 I think. Maybe step the bass up in segments as those sounds are brought in so it’s not such a drastic transition.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the feedback! You’re right about the bass, I need to pay more attention to that, especially the last one you mentioned, that could’ve been a lot smoother.

At 15:20 I think it’s the song, not quite sure though. Maybe I need better headphones to really get what you mean
