Can someone help me with the xone4d. I just got it and I was able to hook it up to traktor pro2 along with my cdj 900 nxs’. I’m not able to do any mapping to the midi controls without disconnecting the cdj’s and running the xone through my laptop. What am I doing wrong?
If I do any kind of mapping it turns of the external sound card and cdj’s and runs the mixer through the laptops internal sound card only. I want it so I can run mapping the other way with my cdj’s going
You’re going to have to be clearer about what your trying to do.
What is your music source CDJs or laptop?
What do you want coming through each channel of the mixer?
What do you want to control with what?
+1 on this, I still have no idea what your setup is. If I understand you correctly you have the CDJ’s in HID mode connected trough USB to your laptop + the Xone connected trough USB to your laptop and if you map any of the controls from the Xone it disables the soundcard of the Xone and enables your Laptops soundcard? Does the Xone still show up in the traktor settings menu as a soundcard? If so can’t you just manually select it there ?
Above yes I can manually select it to get my cdj’s back, but I have no mapping; thus the xone 4d is useless. My pic is a MacBook running the newest version nightmare update. I got the traktor update (thank god, which is why I’m up and running). Above, above I’m trying to use the xone 4d as a all in one mixer to to have my effects and samples right there, but it’s not happening. Like I said I’m using a MacBook with traktor pro2, running pioneer cdj’s for my hands to do work and the xone 4d to use for effects, sampling, looping, and whatever else I can make it do.
I’m running apple’s latest el capitan, I’m using the cdj’s on hid mode in traktor, I’d like to use my xone for effects and remix’s also I’m trying to figure out how to hookup the pioneer efx1000 so that would use up my send and return’s if i could it work correctly.
ai El Capitan isn’t the most perfect OS to be on right now as a Traktor user though i can hardly imagine this problem being caused by it. And I still don’t understand, can you se the Xone’s soundcard in Traktor’s audio setup tab in the main menu or not?
For what you seem to want you will need the xone 4d as Traktors audio device, the 2 CDJS set to control decks A and B (no audio from these). Traktor will need to be in external mixing mode, set each traktor deck to the channel on the mixer you want it coming tough. Make sure the Xone 4d channels are set to the USB sound card inputs.
Get that ‘2 deck’ setup running first then worry about adding sample and effects control.
I can use the mixer part of the xone just fine, but the midi doesn’t work. It worked for a minute last night. I had full control on channel one ( which is is cdj 1) and then it stopped working. Channel two at least let me use effects ( which is cdj 2.).
Do you mean the CDJ stopped controlling Traktors deck?
If the CDJs are working fine I suggest you clear all mappings except anything linked to the CDJs.
Test a simple mapping as follows (if this works so should a more complex mapping):
Create a new mapping with the xone 4d for the input and output port.
Add an input for the FX unit dry wet adjust.
Push learn, move a knob /pot.
Don’t select any modifiers.
Type of controller should be set to fader / knob.
Interaction mode should be direct.
Assignment should be FX unit 1.
Soft takeover and invert un-ticked.
Check that the knob you’ve mapped consistently controls the dry / wet of FX unit 1.
No problem, your unlikely to find a mapping that does exactly what you want, so you’ll end up with a better mapping if you create it yourself. Theres plenty of guides online and you can play around with the options to see what they do. Test as you go to make sure each stage works and you should be fine.
