Xone k2 or Traktor X2 ? or both haha
What is everything body thinking about the controllers?
anybody get a xone k2? how is it and how much you pay?
neither are out yet and serve different purposes- if I get anything it will be a K2 for xlink and it is way more useful since I don’t use sample decks.
the xones are out, just no where in north america , there starting shipping around the end of this month.
Well i can the see the x2 nice with ableton also , i think one of each would be good the k2 for all the controls and fxs(which i barely use cause of my db4 ) and the x2 for sample decks.
Why don’t you use the sample decks there really nice?

yeah , i am replacing my x1s for k2s should get them beginning of feb, but the x2s are still in the unknown there isnt too much info about them.
I dont know if i should pick a pair of k2s or just one , there is so many assignable functions because of the 3 layers on the k2 i don’t think you will need more then one,Im to going enjoy mapping it.

NI for me, the K2 were Definitely on my buy list until these got teased. But the controllerslut would have from left to right:
X2, X1, K2, X1, X2 Traktor
CNTRL, Maschine Ableton

Really you only need 1 X1 for the main decks. I will be getting two X2’s for my sample decks, My X1 will control my main decks and I will be adding a fancy Denon DN-X1600 to the arena to control the rest including a few other midi functions.
Different toys for ableton and maschine.

K2 for me…
Well my point of view is that guys from ni continue their capitalist strategy…So now to control Traktor 2/3, we need a x1 + a x2…
or a s2/4 + x2… so in all cases of your configuration, you can buy their new controller…perfect for their profits…I think they first think money before us..
I’ll not be a sheep this time..
With a K2 you can do both x1/x2 functions…
So if you don’t already have a x1 or s4/2…the K2 is a better option ! (& even if you already have a x1…sell it !)

They are NOT out. I can categorically tell you they are not out yet.

Look forward to reviews on K2’s build and audio performance. My X1’s are already showing signs of deterioration (loosening knobs, USB ports). It wouldn’t be hard for A&H to set a higher build standard from the start. Already I have the impression K2 is more of a solid and versatile product, while NI is locked into X1/Maschine’s cheaper build format.
Add to that my personal disappointment at the ‘NI customer experience’ and A&H’s offerings are looking very good indeed.
I don’t live in the US. Just to give you a better picture, a new S4 goes for $1600 and a X1 +/- $340. Summing up, $450 is an optimistic forecast.
