ZOOM H2n Help and advice!

Hello, guys and gals…

I’ve recently purchased a Zoom H2n recorder to use for recording voice audio for podcasts, samples for ableton and recording live mixes straight out of DJ mixers in clubs and at home.

Now here’s where my problem lies (hopefully I’m just being a tech biff as usual)… I’ve attempted to go from the stereo ‘record out’ of a DJM900 strait into the 1/8" ‘line in’ of my Zoom H2n but unfortunately I’m not getting clean audio straight from the line in, the mics are still picking the sound of the crowd etc up and obviously recording a mix through mics sounds, well, shite.

Am I missing something here, or did I research this piece of kit incorrectly and thus trying to use a function that it doesn’t have? ..but then if it doesn’t have it, why the ‘line in’?

Any advice or pointers would be hugely appreciated, I’ve got a gig coming up next weekend and really want to give it a trial run at home before hand.

Many thanks,

JD

I’d start by reading the manual section on recording from line in…

User manual

Dan, thanks for the reply.

I’ve been through the entire ‘recording’ section in the manual and can’t see any line in directions. Also if you look at the contents list it isn’t there.

Have you read the manual yourself Dan? Am I just missing something?

Thanks,

Jack

Are you getting the line-in indicator at the top left of the screen?
