cool! thanks for the info.. :)

The VST aspect of this is what is interesting me the most. Means I can finally properly use an effects processor alongside my S4! Hope the VST will be sold separately too. Now just trying to think what other controller I could map all this stuff out to! Any suggestions?
I'm curious to see if Allen & Heath will come up with something to compete. Their effects are in a different league
Hey I am very interested for this unit, so I have few questions, how will we be able to control time parameters for those echoes, reverbs etc., I don’t see time parameter buttons (1/2, 3/4, 1/1…), also I have question, I would really like to use this unit with s4, because traktor doesn’t have good post fader echo effect, filter is not the best, there is no crush, white noise…. so I am asking is it possible to connect this rmx 1000 with s4 and to use those effects as post fader effects, in other words when I turn on echo and pull down volume fader will there be echo trail like on the pioneer mixers?
@gaki - I thought you could make an effect send with traktor... if you can't you could probably route the audio to ableton with jack, then from ableton into the rmx1000, then back to ableton then back to traktor to your speakers... the s4 has 4 inputs but not sure if it has 6 outputs eg headphone, master 1, master 2, so you may need an extra audio 2 or similar soundcard to get the audio out of your computer into the rmx...
btw you can already do an effect with exactly the same sound as a post fader delay in traktor, go into the delay in advanced mode and there is a kill send knob, just use that instead of the volume, or if you know how to map set a button to activate the delay and set a modifier that can change your volume slider to control that knob while you have the mapping active.... and I believe that the ice verb in advanced mode will create an effect similar to white noise by filtering the lows and reverbing the highs with a little resonance, not sure about a bit crusher as I dont use traktor, but my money is on it being there aready. You are right about the filter though I think it sounds terrible.
[edit]I think the bitcrusher is called lofi in traktor[/edit]
About the timing of the rmx it sucks that the feature of the 8 size buttons is gone, but in the promo vid dashi dance is using one of the build noise effects and changing the "sub parameter 2" knob to change the lfo filter frequency on the white noise, the efx1000's bpm timing is perfect 99% of the time so it should be the same for this, and there is a tap button for when it is wrong, but if it is just using the knob or the x pad it won't be as precise as it's predecessor.
I wonder if this has modular routing options like the efx1000, with that you can choose the signal flow from left to right or right to left, if you can route the noise generators to say a transform then an echo it would be pretty cool, but I think the most interesting feature of this device is the release effects, hopefully there is a knob to control the decay of the echo so you can have a slow or non degrading echo.
@synthet1c Hmm, if that is required to connect rmx 1000 with s4 that would be really complicated, I hope there is simpler way to connect it. I didn't understand you about making that postfader echo in traktor, if you thought about using freeze button when delay is advanced mode, I have already tried that but it isn't good enough as echo on pioneer mixers, it sounds too synthetic, in other words it sounds like it looped that part of song and slowly fades it out, like it is cuted, and on pioneer mixers it sounds more natural, so that is one of reasons why I would use rmx 1000, also that lofi is not comparable to pioneer's crush effect. Don't look at me as pioneer fanboy, because I sold my cdjs 2000 and djm 400 to buy traktor and mbp, and I am very happy with that setup, it only lacks good pioneer quality effects (like filter, flanger, echo, crush, new reverb, noise and all those new effects), but effects like beatmasher and gater are something that pioneer lacks. I have already wrote to traktor about updating their effects, and they agreed with me, but it seems that they are investing their time into creating sample decks and other stuff, and that is the only reason I would like to buy this unit.
i think you will find that the rmx doesn't have the standard effects like filter, flanger, phasor, delay, for those effects you are better off getting an efx1000 and then you get the feedback loop/pitch echo which is insanely fun to use, the ones on this unit seem much more layered in the scene effects where you have combinations of complimentary effects with signal generators.. I also looked at the video again and it appeared when james zabiela was doing his trademark transform scratch he was playing with the x pad, but it didn't appear to change the sound or timing of the transform...
In regards to the beatmasher and the gater you are misinformed as the beatmasher is a copy of pioneers roll effect and the gater is called trans on pioneer gear. It also looked like james zabiela combined a white noise and the trans effect for an effect very similar to what the gater in traktor produces.
Finally if you want to get the most out of effects you should consider switching to Virtual DJ as this will most likely be able to run the vst version directly in the program without having to route the audio and you can take advantage of using other pristine vst effects for filter, delay, reverb, flanger, equalizer, compressor, bit crusher, granulizer (stretch), aswell as the many vdj effects including a fantastic copy of the feedback loop of the efx 1000, looproll/beatmasher, frequency gate as on the djm2000... And VDJ8 is just around the corner so if atomix listen to and impliment the missing features from djdecks all our requests it will be better than any other software on the market...
About the post fader delay, im not sure if it is the delay or the echo, i just did it at a mates house once, but it took about 30 seconds to figure out, but the kill send does exactly the same thing as the freeze button, it just filters out the sound gradually with the position of the knob, i think djtt made a video in one of there blog posts a while back, but you should figure it out if you play with the knobs in advanced, there is only 3 that it could be and for some reason i think it is the one on the right...;)
Its looks pretty interesting to me honestly. But I'm mostly a CDJ user who plays at bigger clubs. When I play smaller gigs I use my s2, but if a place has this I would want to use it for sure. If street price is 800 bucks thats not bad honestly. Its something I would certainly look into, but I gotta upgrade my mixer first!
