APC40 Mapping Madness (Midi Fighter Style on APC40)

Hi Timmio,

Thanks for posting your mapping on here. I've just started using Traktor and have an APC 20. I've been trying to map controls with various states of LED feedback, (hotcue buttons whos colour changes depending on whether the hotcue is mapped and whether the track is playing or not.) I've been able to get certain things to work but it's still very buggy. Looking through your mapping has given me a few pointers.

Ohh god, I just figured it out. I hate you all... for making such an awesome mapping! I'll never get anything productive done ever again!

I have a list of stuff I need to do this afternoon and I just spent an hour destroying some tracks! APC20 with this mapping + VCI-100 with Ean's mapping= TOTAL LOAD BLOWING AWESOMENESS!

Five years ago I wouldn't have even been able to imagine that something that was already a passion of mine could become so much more brutally fun.

Hey man, I just used their APC 40 mapping and it ends up working just fine. Really you just lose some advanced effect controls that they have mapped to the section on the right. I've got my VCI-100 for all that though so it doesn't really bother me. I'm now in the process of remapping some of the FX 3&4 presets but that's really the only change I've made (and I did this just because of personal preference)

By the way, can someone explain what the APC's Scene Launch buttons actually do? I haven't been able to figure that one out.

Updated to add this question too:

On the HouseQ 3.0 mapping, the image shows the FX 3&4 buttons as loading up Delay, Slice, and Gater effects but when I loaded it I got Beatmasher, Slicer, and Turntable FX. Is anyone else having that problem or is it just me? Is it labeled correctly? Maybe this is a conflict between the VCI-100 mapping and this mapping...

1) I made a 4x4 button drawing and checked which notes midi fighter was sending per button (so I could check the TSI and knew which in/out signals were sent from Traktor when pressing a key on the midi Fighter)


hey there.. i dont suppose you could share those? im just about to map my ipad and saw how many things there are.... would save me a hell of a lot of time... my gf already things of gone bananas remapping my vci 100... ipad should be pretty quick under the old finger ey! just a tap !!

you wouldnt have done anything like a midifigher supercombo mapping for the apc would you have?

ive read the whole thread and im a bit hazy cause of the meds im on (kinda sick right now) and dunno if i missed it (but the 3.0 mapping is to control basically all of the features of traktor -- not used just as a midifigher?)

Hey no stuff for super combo's yet indeed. But still thinking of remapping some stuff (also as the T2 will come out soon, which requires some different mapping). Also I want more FX to play with, so I'll probably continue the remapping within soon.

The 3.0 mapping is indeed to control full traktor, but can also greatly be used next to an external or internal mixer (I use the DDM4000 next to it, works great. although I did some small remappings here and there).

So it's not the Midifighter mapping anymore as it originally started (so for 4x4 buttons) but it does hold all the functions, cues and fx's stuff

AS stated above, the APC40 works fine (although you'll miss the fx nobs). My APC mapping is now focussed on the S4, as I noticed that the APC40 works nice on the APC20 I didn't continue the remapping for the APC20

The Scene launch buttons (you mean the buttons on the far right to be sure we are talking about the same buttons..), those light up like a VU meter for the master channel , pressing them won't do a thing, but it's some nice extra lighting

Regarding the FX, that's correct. Some APC40 versions seem to have a different note-set on that block or some strange other behaviour. I'm not sure how this can be fixed, seems to be different per model.

My APC mapping is now focussed on the S4

so are you saying youre mapping the apc to do shit the s4 cant?

i like the sound of that... it would be cool to see the midifighter supercombos in there if you decide to do that with tpro2.

either way, just had a play with it as the full on traktor controller... a lil acclimation needed (imho) but great if i dont wanna lug the s4 out.
