I'm currently useing a mixtrack. Ya I know I'm poor. I have an opportunity to pickup a Vestax VCI-300. I know Vestax is now out of business but are these solid controllers? Please give me your thoughts on this thing and thank you in advance.

If you want to buy a solid DJ controller but are on a tight budget, then I would probably go for this: Pioneer DDJ-SB2
Go for it. the Pitchfader on the VCI-300 are SOLID. They are very accurate, and they also come with Serato DJ. If you get the SB, you will need to pay $100 extra to get the full Serato DJ software (you would be limited to Serato Intro). IMO, stay away from cheap controllers with crappy pitch faders (Not sure if the SB applies).

The VCI 300 mk 1 had very low output levels (Headphone & main outputs), the Mk 2 was a lot better.
Saying that though. I loved my old VCI 300. ......it was the first time i mixed on a controller & "felt" like i was almost mixing on a pair of turntables & an analogue mixer.
If you can find a VCI380, grab that instead. You still have the same "mixer & decks" experience, plus all the other advanced Serato features (fx mapping is a bit odd though!)
Cheers
