I used metal floor monitor stand tops but I was going to use lack shelves and you can use a lack shelf for the laptop stand. I would recommend just going to lowes and they sell nice wood boards for $10 that are like 12" by however long and they can cut it to length then I used black spray paint it is probably sturdier then you don't have to fill in the back of the shelf and actually have real wood to screw into. you will need a couple long metric bolts and fat washers for the capita brackets sice the ones it come with are too short, some washers, and some thinner bolts and big washers for the monitor stands.

It's a bit messy atm, but here's my setup :
Computer/gaming zone, which will become my production desk in few months
DJing zone, CDJ 350, DJM 350, Kontrol X1, Akai LPD8, MBP 13, Traktor Pro 2
Studying zone under construction ahaha
Global overview
The desk is all IKEA (model : Galant i think). Well actually it's a double desk. The studying part is new, that's why there is a color difference, but it will get darker with time
