Default Kontol S2+X1 or F1 VS. Reloop Terminal Mix 4.

    So, here's my question;

I'm want to restart mixing after a while that I don't mix, I want a controller, I love the S2 but I miss the 4 channels, yes I'm going to use at least three of them.

    If got a few dues:

1.-Can I use a Kontrol X1 or F1 with my S2 two control the other two decks? or can I map the S2 so that I can switch from deck A to deck C and from Deck B to D? If the second option is available I will go to the S2.

2.-I've been looking at the Reloop Terminal Mix 4 and it seems to be really nice, has got a lot of nice features.
Any coment respect this controller would be nice.

3.-I've looked at the Pioneer DDJ Ergo, but I have to add TP2 to the price and I have to siwtch always from decks A to C and from B to D.

So for prices: (I like the option of the S2 because it's also the cheaper)

Those ar the controllers that I can afford. I really wanted the S4 or The VCI-400(Ean Golden edition or not) but they are way to expensive. And I'm an amature DJ, so even if I could would not spend that much money now, because I won't use all of it's features.

S2(only)= 420$(approx) DJTT price (no extra taxes included)

S2+X1= 700$(approx) djstore.com price (no extra taxes included)

S2+F1=755$(approx) djstore.com price (no extra taxes included)

Reloop Terminal Mix 4+ TP2= 822 $ djstore.com price (no extra taxes included)

PD: I pay in CHF(Swiss Francs) or in € so the prices are way lower for me.

    Thanks from now.

If you have any otheer solutions I'll love to hear them.

if you want to peice together your own tracks from loops, (bare in mind this will be harder than it sounds to really use coherantly with anything other than techno/minimal) then the s2 and f1 would be the winner as you get control over two decks at a time (you can map it so it controls 4 decks) and the f1 can control the sampler...

If however you want to only play choons and not get too complicated with the sampler side then the reloop would be better, Personally I have a digital jockey 2 which has the same eq's which I find very annoying as they wobble due to them being push to kill, you should also consider the denon mc6000 as it will be a little more solid although it is smaller than the reloop... I personally prefer large controllers that you can easily move around on without feeling cramped, so that is something to think about. Best advice though is to use them both in a shop...

    synthet1c:

Is really difficult for me to try both of them for two reasons:

1)The Reloop Terminal Mix 4 isn't out yet, comes out on may.

    2) I'm only 15 and in the part of Switzerland in wich I live there are no DJ stores, I have to buy it through internet.

Can you explaine me better what you said about hte EQ's please?

they have a switch that you can press the knob down to activate the eq kills with the stock mapping, they are great quality components it is just the nature of push to kill knobs that they have a very noticable wobble that makes them feel cheap and imprecise, it's a dealbreaker for me as the function is not worth the feeling.

I think from the description reloop published that the buttons have changed from hard plastic to soft rubber, that leads me to believe they will be the same action as on the jockey 3/contour which I like the feel of, but again the jockey 2 is lacking in this department and they look the same in shape and size...

Why the hell did they do that? It must be horrible to press the knobs to kill. you can accidentally push it when you're play around with them.

Do you know anything about my mapping questions on the S2??

the're stiff enough to not be a concern when mixing, they work fine but they do wobble, I did initially like that they had the extra midi messages as I used them for activating effects and shifting the eq knob to control the effect parameters, but I soon tired of the feeling...

Unfortunately I know very little about mapping in traktor mapping, however I am a walking encyclopedia when it comes to Virtual DJ if you have any questions about that... The mapping is much more complex and comprehensive in VDJ.

Not thinking about second hand productss if I don't know it's in great codition, and as I'm in Switzerland, as I said, it's difficult to find dj shops.
