Default Help with buying a turntable

Hey guys, so I got myself a deal for buying a pair of Stanton T92 turntables for a good price.

My question here is the following.

I am planning on going with Traktor Scratch Pro. I already own an audio 8 dj.

Has anyone used timecode with this turntables? should I buy the timecode mk2?

    What are your opinions?

As far as traktor/DVS, It shouldn't matter what turntable you use with Traktor. You could probably use your grandpa's vintage turntable with DVS as long as it has a good stereo needles and stereo outputs. Obviously, you would want better performance than that. For Traktor, the needle is more important to get a clean signal from the time code. The time code is just a series of pulses that Traktor receives as a counting clock. If the needle doesn't pick up the signal correctly, it most likely will jump around or stutter. I use m35x which aren't the best but not the worst. TBH, I'm on a budget. Do some research on needles. There is usually a trade-off with needles. Needles that hold the grooves more effectively also tend to hurt your vinyl more but ones that sound more accurate tend to hold the grooves less. They all have different sound characteristics. But if you are strictly using it for DVS than record burn is not as important as getting a clean signal. As much as it's expensive to replace timecode, it's easier to replace than some rare tracks that you love to play out.

I believe the Stanton T.92 has sufficient torque. I haven't had too much experience with them.

The only difference between timecodes is the version of traktor you are running. Anything above 2.0.1 you use Mk 2, anything below you use the Mk 1 vinyls. As long as the turntable has enough torque for you thats all you need.

Of course turntables for DJing matters and must have pitch controls unless you're an auto-sync lazy ass person (sorry but I don't call an auto-sync jock a DJ.). Whether it'll be used for real vinyl or DVS, it's very important that you use a good set. Otherwise, stick to CDJs or controllers.
