    Default Custom midi fighter 64?

As some of you may already know Shawn Wasabi recently made a video showing a Custom Midi fighter 64

How would one go around to making one of these from scratch? I've found some guides on how to make midi fighters but nothing like the 64. The closest thing I can find is trying something like this http://www.instructables.com/id/Arca...DI-Controller/ using a Brain V2 ividinstruments.com/products/builder/ which seems too pricey and won't be out for a while. Any suggestions from anyone who's dabbled in making custom midi controllers?

If you were to use a keyboard matix ( http://pcbheaven.com/wikipages/How_Key_Matrices_Works/ ) you would just need 16 IO pins (8 to poll, 8 to read, 8*8 = 64) and a Teensy ( https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/index.html ) would be sufficient.

I've put some research into it myself, was thinking about really doing it, but the cost was just WAY beyond the return. The Brain v2 looks to be a good option if you don't want to get your elbows too dirty with programming and troubleshooting. The burn is the total cost of that project, the Brain you'll want if memory serves is like 100, then you have the buttons on top, - 64 @ lets say $3 a pop is about 200, then you have the custom enclosure, and you're sitting at around $400 for the cheap setup. If you were to REALLY do it, you'd go all in and get the silent arcade buttons that are like 5 a pop, so 320 in buttons, an extra $120 essentially.

the other option worth doing will cost even MORE, but there is somethign to be said for the ground work already being laid. Buy (4) MIDI fighter Spectras, take them apart, put them together again in a custom enclosure with the USB plugs tied together. It WILL cost more, but you know it will work, and have support from DJTT.

You can just use the brains brom a regular MF there are ports on there that can be used to add controls. The only big cost would be the buttons. Click here for an example of the possibility's of the midi fighter.

    (another alternative is the teensy)

As someone that recently built a fightstick, agreed on the cost of the buttons x_x

At least if you are ordering 64 of them you should be able to get a bulk discount.
