I made it 'till he dropped Levels. Pretty good for age/equipment. Liked his sample deck usage.
Props
Hell yeah! No sync or phase meters.
Noticed that too. Props!
Good effort! And good effort on the no sync. Some good solid foundations there. Wish I had Traktor and an iMac at 11 though…
wow wish I had started that early
Midi Controllers & Routines = Turning DJing into computer games for kids = Death of DJing
Think your on the wrong forum then mate. Brilliant attitude there.
Props to the kid though, Wish i started that early.
Thinking that myself tbh. shame but it seems DJTT is going a certain way.
Stop… just stop.
I was impressed. Nice to see the new guys are into learning the fundamentals even when they dont have to. He’s got the tracks and skills to rock a frat party atleast..
So because a kid picks up a guitar and wants to play it because it’s fun means he killed rock 'n roll? He did a very good job even though he obviosly hasn’t been at it very long. We’ll see in the next few years if he’s dedicated, if not he’ll stop and that’s that. I’m only fourteen and I’m not out here cause I wanna rock a stadium next to skrillex, I’m here because I have a passion for music. It’s all about the work you put in, and he seems to be putting in the time.
I think that kid will eventually upgrade his equipment and develop even more… BFLY…that wasn’t really nice ![]()
Next Madeon?
No. He’s going to be the first Jordan Reifkind.
No need to hate on the kid. He’s set wasnt great but he’s 11 so who cares he isn’t going to steal your job in the club and the more you hate on him the more people will eventually hate on you for bringing a kid down. He isn’t being a douche in front of the camera he is just normal doing his thing. Good on him.
thumbs up for him. I started playing guitar when I was 11.
I’ve been hearing variations of this sentence since that song came out, and I have to admit I had no idea what people were talking about until pretty recently; I was thinking the DJ had accidentally switched to a channel with the gained turned lower or something and couldn’t understand why this was happening to well known DJs all over the place all of a sudden, hehe…
As for the kid, I wish I got started doing just about anything with that kind of focus when I was 11, hehe… No he’s not the death of DJing but I understand why people might not like this; he’s totally focused on the screen and it’s very much like a video game for him. Sure he’s not using sync, but he’s got no headphones and he’s changing the tempo by sight, not sound. But who cares, he’s 11 and just getting started; hopefully he’ll be drawn more into the music than the visuals (it’s gotta happen; otherwise there are way more interesting video games for him to play than Traktor).
Oh wait, never mind, just saw he’s on a Mac.
