About to start construction…

On my controller based on this…

Good luck with that, looking forward to seeing pics of the finished unit.

are you using an existing mixer or is this an all original build?

lookin tight bro good luck!

Looks sweet! We both have the same idea right now. DIY is the way to go! Is this for ableton?

i think he is planing to use with traktor maybe im wrong lol :smiley: im just guessing :open_mouth:

Ah finally somebody with some balls :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m looking forward to seeing some results as well.

Btw, I don’t know if you are also using Traktor but you might want to add another knob for each deck under those 4 buttons. That would allow you to control the effects completely.

PS: Could you keep track of the total cost of your project?

I’m setting it up for Traktor.

There are a couple issues i have to work out before i’ll have the finished design. But i’ll keep it up to date, and yeah i’ll get the total cost together.

Right now i’m thinking about integrating jog wheels??

What kind of hardware are you using?

Core is a HALE UMC32 DIY USB-MIDI Controller
10k Ohm Pots
Happ Momentary Contact Pushbuttons
And still debating on the faders

It’s all going to be built from lexan

Why would you want jogs?

First think if it is essential for you and they way you operate traktor. If the outcome is that it is a vital part for your setup, go for it!
If not, leave it out.

Yeah i really would hardly ever use them. But now i’m pretty sure i’m throwing on 2 more Faders for pitch control.

Faders and rotaries ftw!

Pretty much - there is not alot jog wheels are useful for nowadays. Alot of Jog wheels functions can be performed better with buttons.
That said - i personally think its nice to have a single jog wheel though.

True true, somewhat like the Otus and the SCS.1d. It would be good for that extra touch.

That is a pretty nice chip you are using. Kind of wished I would have found it earlier. I ended up going the Ean way, add another unwanted step. Looks like you are on the path to a smooth construct.

I’m new here but i want to know if this ever got made??

I’m looking to combine 2 of these controllers together to make a controller for ableton live/traktor.

Would love to hear from the author if it ever got finished.

It’s still in construction. I’m in the retail management business, so i’ve been working 80+ a week, and will be untill after christmas. So look for the completed project in… hopefully… February 2009
